I'm halfway through my BSc Geog degree, and rather than heading straight into my 3rd year, I'd be interested in doing a palcement year as a Field Assistant or similar role. Been looking at the British Antarctic Survery Field Assistant role, and although I've got mountaineering experience in the Alps, I don't fancy my chances of getting through their selection as I don't have anything higher than Mountain Leader.

Can anyone recommend companies/organisations worth looking into for Field Assistant or similar roles for placement years for Geography students?
