Helppp! My deadline is tommorow, I have cut my uni choices for psychology down to York and Sussex

York: just feels right, course seems like it could be very intense though on the science side

Sussex: dont feel that special but course is slightly more 'vocational' which i quite like
The one that u "quite like"

I'm quite sure that I will firm Warwick, but I'm still not sure what to take as insurance.
I applied for Economics and Finance at Leeds, Manchester,QMUL and for Financial Economics at Dundee.

    What do you people think?

    Pro's and con's of those uni's?

    Thanks for help

(just posted this on it's own thread, but this thread seems more appropriate)

Ok, so the deadline is tomorrow so I don't know if anyone will reply in time to help me, but I'm really stuck on what to choose.

I have five offers and the two I'm considering are Oxford Brookes, offering ABC (which I'm exactly predicted) and University of Leicester, offering BBB.
Both are to study English and Film Studies.

I loved the town of Oxford. I completely fell in love with it and felt really at home etc etc. There is an option to take a work placement and study abroad , which I would love to do.The English side has loads of variety and choice, but the Film side is slightly less analytical than the one at Leicester, which was a downside, but loads of the modules are optional so I could avoid some I didn't fancy. Also, Oxford is closer to home, friends and my long term boyfriend... Leicester is ages away and I'm worried about how often I would see everyone

When I went to see Leicester uni, I didn't get to see much of the town and I'm a bit worried it's ugly, chavvy, boring etc. But I like the sound of the carnivals and stuff, and I'm sure it would be fine once I'm used to it. The Film side looked amazing and I was really excited by it, but the English side was quite old fashioned and tbh looked really difficult. Also, ALL THE MODULES ARE COMPULSORY UNTIL THE THIRD YEAR. This really put me off, as I don't want to be stuck doing a course with no variety.Although, they are a 'proper uni' and probably equip you with a good grounding for year 3. There is no option for a work placement or study abroad either. However, Leicester would be a lot cheap to live in than Oxford.

One main thing it boils down to for me, though, is that Leicester has a great reputation and is high on the league tables, and Brookes isn't so high and is an ex-poly. This keeps making me think I would be stupid to pick Brookes over Leicester? How much could this affect my future?

Thanks for reading and please reply if you have any thoughts - I would love to get your opinions!!!
OK So I highlighted everything which is pro Oxford Brookes and/or con Leicester in red and everything pro Leicester and/or con Oxford Brookes.

There's more red then blue. If that helps you out a little. Also I'm no expert and maybe very wrong but I think when it comes to employment what you lack in going to a 'good' university you'll make up for in experience of doing a years work placement.

Sorry posted here before but I'm getting really stressed now because the deadline is tomorrow. I'm trying to decide between Durham and Imperial for physics. Do I choose the course or place? I do prefer the course at Imperial, there are more options in the third and fourth years and it seems more structured compared to Durham. But I generally preferred the atmosphere at Durham and I actually chatted with people unlike at Imperial so it seems friendlier (although Durham is known for it's snobby attitude among some students ).

Hey, guys, I'll appreciate your opinion on which university to firm and which to insurance.

    It's between Aberdeen and Strathclyde.

Aberdeen - Law with French law
Strathclyde - Law with modern language (French)

The Aberdeen offer is higher, but I'm pretty close to it.

I think Aberdeen is better, although I prefer Glasgow as a city, but I'd like to hear you as well.

    Thanks in advance !

Please people, can somebody give me advice?

I can't decide whether to take Manchester or Dundee as my insurance choice for Economics & Finance and Financial Economics respectively!!

I didn't find anything useful in the league tables because they don't match.

Yeah, some European tables actually put Dundee ahead of Manchester.

Meanwhile,Manchester is ranked 20-something in UK and 30-something in the World by leading rankings. It's funny because you can't be only 10 places lower on world table than on UK table.
Manchester is either placed too well in the world or too bad in UK,or both ??

hmm, what guides are you looking at?
These are the more accurate and most recent ones:
    For Economics:
    http://www.thecompleteuniversityguid...gs?s=Economics
    For Accounting & Finance:
    http://www.thecompleteuniversityguid...ng+%26+Finance

Manchester is not scoring good (because of low student satisfaction), but Dundee is well below man

I was looking at some Europe-wide guides.

Now I've chosen Manchester as my insurance choice and Warwick as my firm choice.
I'm about 90% sure that I will be admitted to Manchester so that's most likely my future uni.

    (Economics)

(God knows, maybe I go to Warwick)

    P.S.

Everybody says that Manchester ranks badly because of SS,but from this table it doesn't seem like the most important factor.

    True.
It seems that except from that, the graduate prospects are also low. Which is weird because Manchester has the best career services in the UK and it's being attracted by the top 100 employers
Anyway, I had a similar dilema between Manchester and Leeds for Mechanical Engineering, but I finally chose Leeds, because it has better student satisfaction and I read many complaints, but Leeds was higher in UK guides.
Between Dundee and Manchester though, there is no comparison: Manchester!!!
