Is my high school course good enough?
Hi. I'm 18 years old and I'm currently in 11th grade, doing the IB certificate course. My subjects are: Math SL, English SL, Physics SL, Economics SL, and Visual Arts HL. As you can see, Visual Arts is my only HL. And the reason for this is, because I want to get into an art university and pursue a career in the field of animation and CGI.
Now coming to my question, Is this course good enough? Have I selected the right subjects? I guess I'm feeling a little insecure because most of my friends at school are doing the IB diploma, which is supposed to be much more rigorous than the Certificate course. Ofcourse they want to pursue careers in other areas such as medicine, engineering etc. I've heard that art universities don't care much about academic achievements, but they do care about the student's artistic skills and talents. Is this true? My grades are pretty good, I score higher than most of the IB diploma students too  . I also plan to take the SAT.
I live in India BTW and I want to study abroad...probably in the US. But I'm concerned about how universities perceive IB certificate students with decent grades. Is this course good enough for me to go abroad to study? How would art universities perceive me?

Art universities normally just want a portfolio when you apply for art, they don't normally ask for pecific subjects. However you might need to check the us university overall entry requirement because sometime they are more pecific.. But I doubt very much that it will be anything your not taking (English at SL) A lot of Americans do the certificate and combined it with AP classes so they are used to not everyone doing the DP!
I would say that the certificate completely fine! But just double check with a couple of universities you may be considering!
Definitely do the SATs because you won't be able to study in the US with out it!!
    Good Luck with everything!!
