I'd rather spend the money on food anyways, rather than an extra toilet which I need to clean it myself

I've gone for a standard En Suite - why don't you go for that? It's much cheaper than large and probably not that much difference.

Apparantely it's quite tiny and cramped according to my friend who took a standard en suite.

Looking at pictures the standard en-suites are bigger than any rooms without an en-suite (obviously excluding the studios).
Hey Everyone,

I'm going to start to study in Notts in this september. I'm a postgraduate int. student and i need to ask you guys some info about accommodation.

It is my understanding that SPC is fair enough for accommodation. I need to a place which is enyojable and not gets you bored. I mean hanging out with people is really a need for us to not to feel left out. So do SPC a good place for living? Does it have common places like game room or a tv place (to watch football games etc.)? ensuites have a bathroom, which is a plus though...

I am also wondering about Raleigh Park and Broadgate. I really need a gym, so i'm not sure about Broadgate. Which do you think is the best for accommodation and meeting people easily with.
And a final question, do they seperate blocks/flats according to citizenship like eu/non-eu?

thanks in advance

I've just applied for my accommodation, preferred University park campus, and number 2 as broadgate park

SPC has a common room and what's called the 'grassy knoll' which is like a grass courtyard in between the blocks of the hall, so on your first night of freshers you'll all go and sit out there and socialise etc. I've made friends really easily and Notts is incredibly good for organising events in your halls so if you want to get involved it's really easy to, and can make an amazing friendship group through getting involved with the different things on offer. And SPC doesn't separate according to citizenship, there's a girl from Singapore in my flat.

I imagine I'll be rolling around on that quite a bit at some point lol.

If you're not rollling around on the knoll at least once then you're not doing it right!

Hi there  about to firm Nottingham but I'm a little confused as to what accommodation to pick. I'd prefer en-suite/self-catered and would like to be in a halls with good communal areas or places close by to meet others. Lincoln looks good from the video but I'm unsure whether or not they offer en-suite.

Is there a page where I can see which halls offer en-suite/self-catering? As on the Nottingham site I can only find http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/accommodation/accommodationoptions/cateredhalls/universitypark.aspx which is only for University Campus in general.

University park is catered only. http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/accommodation/accommodationoptions/selfcateredsites/selfcateredsites.aspx

Thank you for the link! That's a bit of a shame as I'm kind of a fussy eater and really liked University Park. Will check out some of these ones now though.

I know how you feel but it's only a year. I'm living at UP right now.

Broadgate park seems to be decent though apparently there's not as many first years compared to other residences plus I've read some really bad reviews of it online. Wish I lived closer so I could go up again to check out accommodation :frown: Is your accommodation catered? If so is the food decent/varied? Thanks again for you help.

I chose Broadgate Park yesterday as I'd prefer to cook for myself, I probably should have chosen UP if there aren't many first years in BGP and if it's not all that nice :/ I'm not even a fussy eater! D:

I've also applied to Broadgate and I'm a first year ... I don't think that it can be as bad as some of the reviews say it is. I think we'll just have to hope for the best...

I know loads of first years at BGP. I'm sure there's just as many first years there as there is at UP. As for niceness, I can't comment.

Just made SPC my main choice and BGP as my second. Would've done it sooner but I thought you had to pay the deposit as you apply.

I think most of the 1st years go on the catered sites on the University Park campus, but if you want self-catering I've heard that Broadgate Park is rather lively as well

BGP. I'd say it's a 7 minute walk from the front gate of BGP. At my speed, anyway.

I've had a quick look at the timetable for first year law students - most classes are in the law and social sciences building, which is closest to BGP. There seems to be one in Clive Granger but that's not that far away. There will be plenty of others worse off than you. I'm in Ancaster(in UP) and I've had lectures all the way over in QMC(Queen's Medical Centre which is the other side of campus), Pope and Coates. So you'll be fine. Hallward - your library - will be right next door(to law and social sciences).

so, may I ask, how long does it take to walk from ancaster to the pharmacy building?
