Queen mary accomodation help 2012
Hey..
I'm firming Queen Mary and I'm conscious that I need to start considering accommodation! I'm pretty anxious about picking the a really rubbish option as I haven't visited (being from ireland) and was hoping some current students at QM could recommend what halls are best for socialising/meeting new people in as I'll know no one at all , like a lot of others, and what's the best value for money!
All help appreciated..
Thank you. -
Re: Queen mary accomodation help 2012Well you can't really choose the halls(Original post by ohohnicolio)

I live quite far away also but I think I am going to visit it somewhere in April.. From what I've seen on their website/ read around here, I think I'll go for either Pooley House or Feilden. They are both en suite at 125 pounds per month.

Re: Queen mary accomodation help 2012You don't actually choose what hall you're in. When you apply, you basically have to rate what type of hall you want in order (so 1- premium en suite, 2 - economy en suite and so on...) Personally I went for standard en suite as my first choice, which I got. This year its £124 pw. Went for that because I didn't really want to pay £13 extra just for a bath etc like you get in premium (France House) and I could afford it. There's also a few cheaper non en suite options. What makes halls really is the people who live in them with you! No matter where you're put, if you're friendly and up for a laugh you'll meet like minded people and have a blast(Original post by ohohnicolio)

Re: Queen mary accomodation help 2012
Hi everyone!

I've firmed Queen Mary for the 2012-2013 entry and I am now in the process of applying for accommodation. Does anyone know what the difference between the different single en-suite rooms: economy, standard and premium actually is (apart from price obviously) ?
Thank you! -
Re: Queen mary accomodation help 2012Economy en-suite: kitchen shared with 9-11 people(Original post by crystalball)

Standard en:suite : 4-6 people kitchen
En-suite premium: 4-6 but larger bathroom with a bath, bigger room, the opportunity to turn your bed into a double bed -
Re: Queen mary accomodation help 2012No, there are no catered halls. However I heard you can somehow subscribe to the Curve and eat there everyday, might be cheaper than just paying on a daily basis(Original post by Daniel G.)
So, there is no catered halls in Queen Mary?
I'm form another country, so it would really help if it was catered.. :/ -
