However, I'm not a fan of chinos (I've never wore chinos before). I don't like Nike Hi tops because everyone in my school wears them (including the chavs). I like the shirt though.

The shirt and chinos would go together but ditch the trainers. Try wearing boat shoes or plimsolls.. If you've got a well built upper bod, I say just wear a plain white t-shirt then chinos but the light brown/tan colour's so common so you might want to try some other colours..

Beige chinos require: brown shoes + brown belt.

Other sensible colour chinos include brown, navy, charcoal, cream, gunmetal, black.

Then combine with a long sleeved shirt (although you might be able to get away with short sleeved in the summer). A t-shirt underneath works, as does a smart sweater or jacket on top.

Do not wear without a collar, do not wear trainers - and yes, that includes every 12 year old skater's favourite brand: vans.

Id wear an oxford shirt with the chinos like this
