Advice on volunteering for the first time at a carehome?
I want to volunteer at a carehome for work experience but I haven't really volunteered before.

What would I need beforehand? How should I go about doing this? Finding one near me, and calling them up? Is there a site dealing with finding places to volunteer/helping you volunteer or is it all an individual effort? Anything else I should know?

I'm also looking for the same thing. I think you can call them and ask if they are in need of volunteers.

    Ask them individually.

Yeeah, call them up individually. Just introduce yourself as a student looking for work experience and ask if they'd be interested in your services for a bit. Whoever answers the phone will almost certainly pass you over to someone who actually has some idea of what's going on in the place, so be prepared to recite your spiel a couple of times
