    what exam board are you on?

    and what is it you struggle with? ... the concept, understanding the mechanism or remembering the mechanism ?

    Think of it as 1 nucleophile joining a molecule and 1 coming off, e.g.

    H3CCd+H2Brd- + -:CN --> H3CCH2CN + :Br-.
