Hi usernamevoid

Thank you for your question! You should receive an offer holder pack from us in the post, which includes information about accommodation. If you haven’t received it yet, you can also download a PDF version from our offer holder website, or alternatively you can find out more information about applying for accommodation here: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/campuslife/accom/applying/index.aspx

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply but I haven't received any Offer Holder pack yet. Anyway, thanks for the link

Hi KCL, :badger:

I have 2 questions:-

1) In Accommodation application, wherever I read 'Couple' does it necessarily have to be the opposite sexes sharing a room or it applies to the same-sex students sharing a room as well? Please clarify the terminology.

2) I have a friend in my country who's also going to King's. I want to share my room with her as it's less expensive and more viable in a new country. But there is no option to do so in the application. How do I do this then? Also, will it be guaranteed that I can share the room with her ???? Please help :afraid:

Hi,

I was wondering how much contact time and lab hours there are at kings for biomedical science.

Also if the kings course offers anatomy/dissections for biomed students or is this just medical students?

thanks

Hi xLovelovelove

Thanks for your message! Our Biomedical Science students have around 20 contact hours per week which are split between lectures, practicals, workshops, and tutorials.

The course does include anatomy one of the popular third year options is currently “Advanced Human Anatomy”. If you would like to find out more detailed information about the programme our Academic Centre should be able to help. You can contact them on 020 7848 6400.

Hope this helps!

Hi usernamevoid

Thank you for your questions. I have just tried to call Accommodation Services to find this out, but unfortunately they are closed today. I will try again tomorrow, but in the meantime you might want to fill in their online enquiry form. You can find a link to the form here: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/ug/international/Contacts.aspx

I’ll hopefully be in touch again tomorrow!

Hello

Due to my attending kcl last year and then dropping out, I have been told that i will get low priority for housing, which isn't good as i live overseas. I have been asked to write a statement explaining why I should get housing, but i just wanted to ask when i would find out what priority they were going to give me after submitting the statement? sorry if thats confusing

Hi usernamevoid

I have just spoken with accommodation services and they said the nature of the ‘couple’ accommodation is that it is specifically designed for couples rather than friends. If you would like to share with your friend, it might be worth you checking out private rented sector accommodation, see http://www.kcl.ac.uk/campuslife/accom/kings/private/index.aspx.

I hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. So in thins link:- http://www.halls.london.ac.uk/student/garden/fees.aspx please see under Hughes Parry Hall the option 'Twin rooms with shared bathroom'. Does a twin room imply sharing a room with a friend??
Thanks
Hello King's,

I'm in the process of filling up the Accommodation form. Can you please tell me where to find the revised rates (2012/13 fees) for King's Residences ?? I have found the new rates for Intercollegiate halls but the rates for King's residences are for 2011 and, therefore, without the complete knowledge of rates I cannot make the final decision. I will be very grateful for a quick reply. Thanks!!!

Hi usernamevoid

It looks to me as if it does imply sharing with a friend, but I would suggest you double check with University of London. You can email them at [email protected].

Hope this helps

Hi

Wondering if anyone knew whether Kings offered a bursary to nursing applicants on top of the nhs bursary and student loan I know they offer myKings bursary to all applicants that recieve maintanance grants and seeing as we don't does that mean we are not eligible.

Just wanted to know as I was informed Buckinghamshire and Middlesex university offer bursary/grant of £1000 pound on top of everything nursing students are elidgable for. Just wanted to know if it was something that all universities offered and whether Kings offers it.

Many Thanks

Hello,

As a King's student staying at an intercollegiate hall (just next to Hughes Parry) I think I can help with this:smile:
Basically, a twin room with shared bathroom is probably a room which you will (have to) share with someone of the same sex. At the same time, I am 90% sure that if you do decide to apply for a twin room like this, you will not be able to pick your room mate, even if a friend of yours would want to live with you. I have a friend who came to live in this hall with a friend of his. He got a place in a twin room, his friend got a single room. They could not change it - until they all moved in when they asked the stranger roommate to move into the single. It was also lots of paperwork.

This might of course be different at Hughes Parry so, as said before, drop them an email! They are generally very helpful!

Best of luck!

Thanks you so much erklam. I'll send a mail to Hughes Parry in this regard. I hope I can get back to you if I have any problems filling up the exhausting Accommodation form. Thanks, once again

Thanks Emma but a closer look suggests that the fee rates are for 2011 and not 2012/13 entry. :frown:

Thank you! Two more questions if that's all right. Should the statement be focused on why I dropped out previously or why I should br given equal priority this time around? Also, would it be better to email them a scanned statement than mail it?

Sure you can! But don't forget, you have until the end of June to fill out the application form so no worries:smile:
