Re: Bod Mod SocietyTwo tongue piercings ("Venoms" I think they get called) would have the same effect and be a lot easier.(Original post by Jodianne)
Okay, stab in the dark, but has anyone here got a surface tongue piercing? -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyYAY I got my VCH done on saturday! How's your healing?(Original post by Daughter of Aset)
Now have 11 piercings - added a tragus and VCH a couple of days ago.
Only other piercings I have are my ears though hehe! -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyWhy is it a stupid idea? I've got mine done.(Original post by Juno)
They're a stupid idea so I hope not -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyPictures?(Original post by Jodianne)
Why is it a stupid idea? I've got mine done.
I've only ever seen a couple -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyReally? You've got it done and you have to ask why it's a stupid idea? Did you not research it at all? Did your piercer not explain any of the risks? =/ Surprised you found anywhere to do it tbh. In most people it would really inhibit their tongue movements, and there's a huge chance of rejection because of the constant movement and the lack of any really suitable jewellery for it. Normal surface bars wouldn't be flexible at all and even PTFE isn't generally flexible enough for the amount of movement your tongue goes through on a daily basis...and it would also put pressure on the piercing holes.(Original post by Jodianne)

Re: Bod Mod SocietyHow long have you had it?(Original post by Jodianne)
I'd rather not because I'll probably get slated by everyone by the looks of it.
What jewellery was it done with?
Do you find your tongue movement is inhibited?

Re: Bod Mod SocietyPerhaps a little less petulance and a little more listening to those who know what they are on about might have saved you some money, pain and disappointment in the long run. Kate has explained perfectly well why it's a stupid idea and Juno and I would have expanded if asked. The person who pierced you in an idiot and shouldn't have done it and you should have done some research before having it down.(Original post by Jodianne)

It is baffling how many people will get pierced and tattoos without doing a jot of research before hand then will readily blame anyone to anyone who is stupid enough to listen. -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyHad it done for about 2 weeks now. Had it done with a curved bar and experienced no problems at all, talking and eating is completely fine.(Original post by Popppppy)

Actually I did a lot of researching about it before I had it done. Obviously rejection rate is high as it is with most bar piercings. If you're insinuating I'm an idiot then I'd rather you not as you don't even know me. I'm not going to blame anyone.(Original post by Trigger)

Stop assuming. -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyTwo weeks is far too early to tell whether you have problems - although tbh I'm surprised you haven't, but I also think that if you had you wouldn't admit them here(Original post by Jodianne)

And no, you clearly did not do "a lot of researching", but again I doubt you'd admit that. -

Re: Bod Mod SocietyYou did just as much assuming and yes, i think you're a bit of a plonker.(Original post by Jodianne)

Re: Bod Mod SocietyWhich means you're clearly lying, as if you were you'd be able to back up your points(Original post by Jodianne)
Wow. I have better things to do than arguing with people over the Internet who I dont even know nor do I care about.
And if you were that convinced your piercing was fine you'd have no problems posting pics, either. -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyCompletely trouble free healing so far (though the position isn't quite perfect, so I'm mulling over the idea of abandoning it early and getting it done in exactly the right place versus just seeing how it goes where it is).(Original post by Emgrace)
YAY I got my VCH done on saturday! How's your healing?

My tragus on the other hand has been a real problem, became massively swollen to the point where I had to remove the back from the earring (which caused more problems because it was too tightly on...) and have ended up having to get the earring changed to a longer bar... Much less swollen now and less painful so will see how it goes. -
Re: Bod Mod Society
I'm thinking of retiring my monroe piercing. I love how it looks and it does suit me, I've had it about 7 years now. BUT when I start my nursing course I'll probably have to take it out, and it's always been a right pain to put back in again afterwards. Never had that problem with my labret, only the monroe, maybe because it's a smaller gauge.
Argh. To retire or not to retire. -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyYou've done it now - I doubt people can berate you any more than they have done already.(Original post by Jodianne)

Re: Bod Mod SocietyAh such a familiar painful choice! I always say I'll retire one piercing or another and then a week later I 'see if the jewellery will still go in' and then I end up keeping it again. We get too sentimentally attached to our piercings. I think I look horrible with my nose piercing but part of me still can't let it go...(Original post by F Ellen)

That's not really a useful post, but I feel your pain -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyWhys the position not perfect? I think the top ball on mine is like 2mm more to the right than I'd want, it doesnt seem quite perfect, but then, Im not symmetrical or anything down there anyway :P And when Im just standing normal it seems central. Im gonna leave it anyway, 2mm is nothing. :P and my mates said it looked awesome. :P(Original post by Daughter of Aset)

Mine feels pretty healed already, only been 6 days!
At first it was a bit swollen and there was a tiny bruise where the needle went through. Oh and then it randomly bled on like day 3, think because I accidently moved the barbell through the piercing. But apart from that now it's fine!
I love it.
Ah yeh my sister has that and its always causing her trouble!
