Re: Bod Mod SocietyMy cousin got his neck pierced, just below his Adam's apple, and then at the back of his neck aswell. He took the one on the back of his neck out because it kept getting caught on his hair, but he still has the one on the front and it looks amazing!(Original post by Kate.)
That's what I'd like to get, too, heh. Or a sternum piercing. But I know I'd knock them around too much =/ -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyThe pic Juno posted are surface piercings... basically ones under the surface of the skin - standard piercings such as navel, ears, nose etc are pierced through skin which sticks out (if you get what I mean(Original post by Kittennffc)
What exactly are surface piercings? Can someone post a picture? Nothing too gross though, i'm a bit queasy

Re: Bod Mod SocietySome people have lower pain thresholds that others... or even if they cannot stand the pain, they get the piercing because it is unique/pretty etc. Everyone has their own reasons(Original post by Kittennffc)
Not meaning any offense, but why would anyone do that?! It sounds sooo painful!!

Re: Bod Mod SocietyAny piercing or tattoo sounds painful.. why have any of them? Personally I like the way they look and the pain doesn't last that long really... the pros outweigh the cons...(Original post by Kittennffc)

Re: Bod Mod Society
I have a single 1.8mm piercing in my left ear and a tattoo on my right shoulder, but have done some scarification before, but not enough to be permanant.
I'm thinking about getting my lip pierced (central, lower lip) but not sure about the effort to keep it clean. Would it be the same as a lobe piercing? I want to get a ring, but would I have to start off with a bar? -
Re: Bod Mod SocietyYou can have it pierced with a labret stud or CBR. Most piercers usually prefer one over the other, for different reasons. Labret studs move around less, and don't look as stupid while they're healing (larger ring needs to be used for swelling). Some people prefer CBRs because they think they're easier to clean (generally not true, really) and most of my friends seem to prefer them as they're cheaper, haha.(Original post by The Canadian)

Nah, not all. A lot do, but that's more to do with piercers attempting surface piercings with little/no experience, using incorrect jewellery, having the piercing too long (doesn't allow it to drain), bad aftercare, etc. It's perfectly possible to keep them in the long term, athough you must find an experienced piercer and make sure the placement is perfect. Nape seems to be one of the most successful ones (back of the neck).(Original post by Pink Sparkles)
Also i heard that surface piercings all reject after a while, is that true?
