Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
its definately not a scam i know can come across dodgy, but when people say the company are not replying to yourself, they have a number listed on the internet follow that and you will get in touch with them your self. i believe they changed there name to European medical assistance last year that's why there isn't much information on them, but i have met up with them to speak to them about the internship, they obviously need money to make sure the participant is dedicated to the internship. Also they have many people on the phones to take any queries and any time i have had problems they have either dealt with it over the phone or emailed me back within a day. They have corresponded with my university to use this as my work exp, and that went fine. They offer internship for various places as well and just started for New York for business applicants so just be patient and wait and if you have any query's give them a call.

Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
As for not replying to emails, it seems as though they are very quick at responding regarding questions to make the deposit, but as soon as your emails ask more important questions (that should be very simple for a legitimate company) such as the address of the new york offices, the emails get ignored.
Aside from the many other reasons why the placement seems like a scam, it's very strange how the last post about the internship got taken down once people started really doubting the internship.
When I applied I couldn't find any forum posts where people were talking about it which I found very odd. If all posts are being removed then there must be a reason.
I think that for a 'legitimate' company, it should be easy to prove themselves as being real. Being a registered company does not do so and only providing forwarding addresses and phone lines doesn't do anything to settle anybody's suspicions. -
Re: European Medical Assistance Internshipwhat where they called before hand?(Original post by jonbon1412)

Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
I also applied for this internship, but I haven't had any problems with contacting the company - they have always got back to me within a day of any questions I have asked them... I don't think it is a scam as I have read somewhere that some people have already received their information packs with their itinary and accommodation info in it and when I had my interview, the guy I spoke to seemed very professional and had answers to all of my questions about the internship.

Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
Hi guys sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this internship is a scam guys. Beaware I advise you NOT to pay the £400 deposit they ask for. I almost fell for it and nearly paid for it. I went to my universtiy careers office and they told me its a scam. After you pay the £400 you do not hear from them.
Another way I realised its a scam was after I was told I called them and I noticed everytime you call them it goes to voicemail and the person always calls you from an unknown I told him thanks for trying to scam me and he disconnected straight away.
So my advice is DO NOT pay the money. spread this message out to everyone. I put a post up and it got deleted for some reason.
Everytime i reply saying this company is a scam but post and comments get deleted.....I'm starting to think someone's covering something up on this forumLast edited by thefayme; 13-03-2012 at 17:50. -

What surprised me when I was researching the internship, was that I couldn't find any discussions on any forums at all.
I commented on a post on here giving my view and it got taken down.
I emailed the Student Room asking why it got taken down and never heard back.
If they can have all posts taken down, then less people will realise it's a scam.
I reported them to ActionFraud and would advise other people to do the same. It's a shame that the reporting form doesn't allow you to give details. It just gets you to forward your emails. -
Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
I haven't heard anything and have e-mailed them countless times in order to find out more information. I'm almost certain it's a scam as lots of things they say don't add up...
But i guess we have to wait. Unfortunately, I don't think there'll be any chance getting the deposit back if it's not legit, especially as i've read that as good as actionfraud are, they won't be bothered about £400.
Let me know if you find out anything else. -
Re: European Medical Assistance InternshipI heard this from them as well, so I think we will just have to wait and see...(Original post by lightupandglow)
Anyone heard anything back, last I heard they had a meeting on Monday about where to place everyone -

Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
Hi, I haven't heard from them since December. They didn't reply to my emails and their phone line is dead. I think it is a scam. I went to my bank yesterday to ask if they can reverse my transaction and they called people from Paypal who said that deposits are not covered in their policies. Just great.

Re: European Medical Assistance InternshipWhich number are you calling? is it 020 3318 2997(Original post by Kathi91)

If you where you contact paypal again and say it was just a fee and not a deposit would that allow a refund to be put in place? -

Re: European Medical Assistance Internship
Hey,
I 'm an Italian girl and I' ve been selected for the internship, too.
I called them yesterday as I am starting to be quite disapponted, just like you guys. They didnt answer at first, but I left them a message... and they called me back saying that I dont have to be worried and that if I dont hear from them either on wednesday or thursday, than I should give them a ring.
Honestly I dont know what to think about this... I am still disappointed. When they emailed me saying that I had been accepted on their Summer internship I had to pay immediately the deposit, they said that they would have informed all of us about the office where we will do our internship by february... it's the 20th of March... and none of us doesnt know anything yet. Is it that normal? I really dont undestand. I have involved my university in of this ... and they are going to give me a grant. I it 's a scam... then I will lose not only the £400 but also the grant...! :/ -
Re: European Medical Assistance InternshipThey said this to my girlfriend back in JANUARY. She had her interview on the Wednesday and the man on the phone said that it was the last few days of considering people for the internship and that he was on the selection committee so would definitely put her name forward.(Original post by lightupandglow)
Anyone heard anything back, last I heard they had a meeting on Monday about where to place everyone
It is clear to see that they have said this to everyone and told everyone that it is the "last few days of deciding". -
Re: European Medical Assistance InternshipNo no! If we are all bothered in trying to stop them, ActionFraud will know that it is a huge scam going on and that it has affected more than just a handful of people. They wont bother if it's only a few people, but together, you have power.(Original post by Hello123123123)
