Re: Edexcel Maths - Unit 2 Higher Tier March 5th 2012Nice(Original post by james mctide)
for area of segment i did 1/2 x r squared x sin35-triangle and the found area of sector, then i misused them from each other,is that right??
If you got 119 for area of segment, then that's correct.

Re: Edexcel Maths - Unit 2 Higher Tier March 5th 2012If you calculated upper bound as 3.61... and lower bound as 3.59.. then you would probably get 3/4 marks. 3.6 is the final answer and had to give reasons.(Original post by flyhigh99)
ooo, for the upper/lower bound questions i got the correct answers,
i just decided to round up to 4 cause of 1dp,
would i still get the marks?

Re: Edexcel Maths - Unit 2 Higher Tier March 5th 2012I think so. for area of sector i did angle/360 X r^2pie(Original post by james mctide)
was workingout correct mate?
Then I use the area of triangle rule to find the area. Finally subtract area of sector from area of triangle
yes if your quadratic equation was simplified(Original post by james mctide)
i got working out but left it as 5!! will i still get marksLast edited by Putch1; 06-03-2012 at 08:16. -

Re: Edexcel Maths - Unit 2 Higher Tier March 5th 2012my maths teacher told me the minimum boundary for an a* is usually 160 or so(Original post by sedagezmis)
how many marks is an A*. Im aiming for an A*. In the non-calculator i got a minimuim of 75 marks and in the calculator i got a minimuim of 90.
