This thread needs to be more active!
Does anyone have any predictions?
I’m usually wrong but based on what hasn’t come up my list of predictions is the following:
• The link reaction
• Krebs cycle
• Chemiosmotic theory and experimental evidence
• Adaptations of the chloroplast
• Autotrophs and heterotrophs
• Maintaining body temperature – ectotherms
• Generating nerve impulses
• The endocrine system
• The adrenal glands
• The control of blood glucose
• Detoxification of alcohol
• Ultrafiltration
• Water reabsorption
• Testing for anabolic steroids
• Osmoregulation -
Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012Hopefully there's more on The actual detailed stuff; I sat it in Jan and it was respirometers and stuff hence why i'm having to resit =/(Original post by -Haz-)

Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012yes please the neurones and homeostasis(Original post by ashleighlg)
Is chapter one Communication and Homeostasis?
I'm up for some questions!
can we do it until 11:30am then continue later in afternoon? -

Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012Yes can do(Original post by otrivine)
hi i am back shall we start?
-
Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012When a change occurs, either environmentally or internally and that change is increased, for example in blood clotting.(Original post by otrivine)
i start then you so define positive feedback and give an example when it is beneficial?(3)
Okay, erm, Give three differences between a sensroy and a motor neurone (3) -
Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012yes 3/3(Original post by ashleighlg)

Okay, erm, Give three differences between a sensroy and a motor neurone (3)
Sensory have cell body inside the CNS and motor outside CNS
Sensory has short axon and motor long axon
motor has dendron and sensory has no dendron -
Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012Yeaah(Original post by otrivine)
yes 3/3
Sensory have cell body inside the CNS and motor outside CNS

motor has dendron and sensory has no dendron
erm.... How does the pancreas act as an endocrine and an exocrine gland? (4) -
Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012i didnt revise this part yet. i revised so far everything upto neurones like the action potenital thing .(Original post by ashleighlg)
Yeaah

but let me give you one
What is the function of sensory receptors(1) -
Re: OCR Biology F214 Communication, Homeostasis and Energy Friday 22 June 2012Ah okay, sorry!(Original post by otrivine)
i didnt revise this part yet. i revised so far everything upto neurones like the action potenital thing .
but let me give you one
What is the function of sensory receptors(1)
They carry impulses from the receptor to the central nervous system
