Hello everybody!
Hi The Student Room! My name is Tony Hernandez, and I just thought I'd drop a quick line to say hello to everybody. I'm 20, 21 in August, and I've just applied for an assessment at the Brighton Institution of Modern Music (BIMM). I'm looking to leave my job in order to study music, and hopefully eventually pursue a career in music in some way, shape, or form.
I look forward to becoming a part of this forum and I hope I don't annoy too may people with stupid questions!
Thanks,
Tony. -
Re: Hello everybody!
Hiiii. I've been struggling to find any recent posts of anyone starting BIMM this September in Brighton but found this! Good luck with your audition by the way, I had mine early January and I was cacking it. But it went really well, so don't be nervous. I'm desperately looking for accomodation at the moment, I know its early but I need it sorted! How is yours going? If you've got any tips they would be useful haha and I'll be 17 going on 18 in Sept, which makes it harder as a lot of places want 18+ grrrrr.

Re: Hello everybody!
Hi! Thanks for your reply! I'm assuming you got in? What do you play?
To be perfectly honest, I've not had a chance to start looking into accommodation yet, I was going to ask at my audition. As far as I hear BIMM are really good at pointing you in the right direction so I'd give them a call. If you're going to be 18 by the time you go to BIMM it shouldn't be a problem with places that are looking for 18+.
how long does it take to hear back after the audition, or do they tell you there and then? -
Re: Hello everybody!
Yeah I got given the place there and then. I do vocals, so I sang Etta James At Last, ridiculously cliche but they gave me a list of about 5 songs and it was the best one! haha. Yeah I have been in contact today with a woman who sorts it all out, but I wont be 18 until next April which means it's going to be more difficult to find a landlord who will take me, and more expensive! Brill. But obviously you won't have any trouble finding a place!
