    Here's the question to make it easier for any1:

    5(d) Figure 5 shows a cell with six chromosomes.

    5(d)i) This cell produces gametes by Meiosis. Draw a Diagram to show the chromosomes in one of the gametes. (2 marks)

    5(d)ii) How many different types of gametes could be produced from this cell as a result of different combinations of maternal and paternal chromosomes. (1 mark)

    Ok, firstly, the answer is 8, not 5.

    And secondly here is exactly how to do it I wanted to know aswell >_< I forgot too >

    An easier way to do is just
    2^{n}

    When n = number of homologous pairs

    So 2^{3}=8

    But the thread that Sorro linked to will help you to understand where that came from better But once you understand, its quicker to just do it as 2^{n}

    Edit: I just realised that was mentioned at the top of that thread, skimmed passed it. But there you go anyway :laugh:

    at this stage where getting close to exams do you think the best thing to do now is so past papers. then mark them and see what grade im getting in them. Cos if im hitting b's and a's does that mean im doing well any improvemtns revision tasks that i can do
