Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsNot sure about the first one, re: the second one not sure how marks are structured but we were told that for every finding, it helps to put a conclusion with it(Original post by Miracle Day)
I have a question. In Aims and Context do you get 6 marks for aims and 6 for contexts? And in Findings and conclusions is it 6 for each?
-
Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsI don't think aims and context are divided as that, as such. At least when I was revising for my exam I did not in any way divide it into 6 marks each but rather revised it as a whole, with aims and context incorporated throughout rather than, I think, distinguished separately. With findings and conclusions, however, I did talk about the findings first and then the conclusions separately. What I found was that even if I forgot to include something from the findings in the 'findings' part of the essay, I could include it in the conclusions part and just write 'such and such also found XYZ and thus also concluded that...' Often there won't be many findings that would alone equate to 6 marks so I don't personally think you should look at it as 6 marks for one and 6 for the other without there being a leeway.(Original post by Miracle Day)

Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsI suppose it depends on the question you are asked (for Aims & Context). If the aim is straightforward or small, I think it will come down more to how much of the context you add in (obviously, you still need a good paragraph about the aims). Findings & Conclusions would be the same, I know there were a lot of findings in the Asch study compared to the Loftus & Palmer study - it's about looking at which study and balancing it compared on the information you are given about the study.(Original post by Miracle Day)

Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methods
This is by FAR the worst exam i've ever had to! and the preparation leading up to it is a killer:/ Not quite sure how I managed to get 119/120 on it tbh
although now that I think about it py2 doesn't have a patch on py4! (dreading that exam so much)
Good luck all, preparing in good time for this exam is really the key, well it was for me anyway and timing yourself with the essays -
Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsreally? the question states 'summarize the aims and context etc.'(Original post by Miracle Day)

it is 6 marks for both, same with the findings and conclusions as well.
btw, you done the findings and conclusions for Rahe? I'm struggling with him, I hate his study. -
Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsNope I start Rahe tomorrow. and, I was thinking it wasn't even 6 on 6, but then the examiners report said he can't get more than half marks for not concluding Aims so it threw me was like.. :s(Original post by Sesshomaru24U)

Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methods
Spent pretty much a days worth on L+P writing out all the notes for the 5 questions (3x).. I feel like without notes I could now get 10/12 or so but this is with just doing revision beforehand
I can't even remember Rahe at all lol this is by far the worst subject I have to revise for :P

Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsPsychology has dominated my revision. I'm not going to revise for Question 4-5 I'm just going to use generic terminology like Ecological Validity and for Question 6 I'm going to revise the last 2 days before the exam.(Original post by Nathan2995)

Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsHow many marks out of 90 do you need to get an A? What do you think it will be anyway?(Original post by Miracle Day)
I've learned 9/10 case studies all except Bennet-Levy mainly because the results are huge and I'm not sure what ones to learn from it:s
ahwell, forgetting Psychologyy now for 11 days (let's hope I don't forget anything)
I really don't want Rahe for conclusions... he can **** off. -
Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodsGood luck to you!(Original post by Miracle Day)

Re: WJEC - PY2 - Case Studies and Research methodslast year the raw mark for an A was 55 in PY2!(Original post by t.adur)
Is it true you only need 75% to get an A (which is 68/90 marks) ??
