Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012
Hello everyone !
Looking for people who have applied to Rotterdam University and would want to commence their studies there next year.
Personally applied for "International Business Administration" and "International Business and Business Economics" 2012/2013. Got conditional offers from both programmes and I am now thinking of which programme to choose.
I am therefore very pleased to welcome all of you guys who want to study ( or already study) in EUR , to join this conversation.

Did you apply to any UK unis? -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012
If you accept the offer, are you legally obliged to go to RSM if you go to uni in Netherlands?
Like in UK, if you firm your choice and you get the grades, you have to go there if you go to uni in UK.
I've also applied to Maastricht and i am not sure which one is my first choice. -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012
Hi again Mihawk!
I decided not to apply to Bocconi and rather go for RSM instead. For RSM international business administration requirements you may check out this link http://www.rsm.nl/bachelor/bsc-inter...-second-degre/
Looking forward to hear from you

Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012
Hi SoldierSixteen !
I thought of applying to UK universities (like LSE) but i found fees there to be very high.
I think you should have mentioned what is your first choice on studielink.nl
About whether you will have to be legally obliged to go to RSM after acepting offer , i would advise you to contact their admissions office.

Yep already done !
Why did you choose RSM over Bocconi ?
For IBEB as you may know it doesn't have anything to do with RSM but is part of EUR. -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012For which courses are you taking the maths test ?(Original post by BalysZ)
Applied for both the IBA and IBEB courses. I'm taking the mathematics entrance exam this Wednesday. I really hope I get in!
What is your background ? A levels ? -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012Okay because IBEB's test is more difficult than IBA's...(Original post by BalysZ)
I'm taking the maths test for the IBEB course, but I've contacted RSM and they told me that they will consider my application to the IBA course on the basis of the results of that same test.
I've completed my secondary education in Lithuania.
You didn't do well in maths during your secondary school ? -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 20121) In Netherlands , in my opinion , knowing English is sufficient to communicate with other people , on the other hand in general not all Italians can speak English very well or good enough to talk to someone else. This is important because at first when i will just move to another country , i may only rely on english and only then later on i will learn mother language of a country to where i will move.(Original post by Mihawk)
Yep already done !
Why did you choose RSM over Bocconi ?
For IBEB as you may know it doesn't have anything to do with RSM but is part of EUR.
2) I was mainly aiming for Bocconi as they have scholarship programmes which would have significantly reduced a price of studies but unfortunately my A Levels aren't enough to be eligible for grant , i should have also done SATs which i found quite difficult to study for in parallel wiht my A-Levels.
3) While Bocconi offers only one bachelor business orientated programme in English , EUR offers four.
4) Finally , i personally think that curriculums for IBA and IBEB are more interesting (with respect to variety of subjects offered) in comparasion to BIEMF.
Nevertheless , Bocconi has it benefits too but i found them to be less significant for me
-
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012
On the contrary, I think that IBA's test is more difficult because it covers more topics i.e. probability theory, graphs etc. The IBEB test focuses more on derivatives.
I wouldn't say I did bad. I got a math grade of 9 out of 10 in my final year of high school. -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012Okay but i think that the fact that italians don't speak english very well can be an incentive for you to learn italian quickly, whereas in Netherlands you may not be able to speak Dutch at the end of your bachelor lacking practice ...(Original post by vlad_l)

Plus I think that IBA is very specialized ... What can you do after ? Besides Marketing, Finance and of course Invesment Banking
? Whereas in Bocconi you can go for an academic career if economics suits your interests.
19 in May for me.
What did you do after secondary school BalysZ and Time ?
Do you have a link in which you can see BIEMF descriptions ? (curriculum)Last edited by Mihawk; 11-03-2012 at 17:49. -
Re: Erasmus University Rotterdam Society 2012Very cool! I'm honestly happy I won't be surrounded by 18 year olds if I get in
(no offense to all you youngins
).
I've graduated in July 2011 and took a gap year until the next academic year. So far I've traveled and lived in a lot of places (Scotland, France, Catalonia). Now I'm back in Lithuania working, studying what I feel like studying, doing sports, meeting new people and just enjoying myself. -
