Re: Favourite place in the world?Flights to Madagascar are expensive (£600 return is about the cheapest you'll find), but if you're willing to travel independently (not easy, not incredibly difficult either- you'll need to speak some French though) and use public transport, you can get around cheaply. I cannot emphasise enough how wonderful that country is- you'll go for the wildlife (as I did) but the people will leave a lasting impression.(Original post by battycatlady)
I really loved Adelaide in Australia 'cause I think it's so awesome how when you're driving around you see kangeroos and parrot looking birds and stuff. Plus I like spiders and Australia has the best spiders.
I loved Lake Ghada in Italy because it was stupidly beautiful. Also Verona was pretty swell as well 'cause the opera place is awesome as it's where I saw 'Carmen' and got into opera in the first place.
I loved Norway. No idea where we stopped, but it was so awesome in a long cabin surrounded by snow!
Plus the forests there look epic.
Chatsworth estate in Derbyshire(part of the peak district I think). It's so beautiful for walking and I love Chatsworth House
I love travelling! I'm desperate to go to Madagascar and the Galapagos Islands to see the wildlife, but they're so expensive! Maybe when I win the lottery some day haha
In answer to the question, I don't really have a favourite place. There are places which have exceptionally happy memories attached to them. Some quite 'mundane' and others far more exotic. My lazy answer would be Central Asia (the 'stans) because the highs and lows of travelling and living there are so extreme- you can't spend a long period of time there and not come back changed in some way. -

My uncles camp on Kiwayu in Kenya, absolutely beautiful there, unspoiled with loads of fun things to do:

www.mikescampkiwayu.com(yes I am shamelessly promoting it, but its AWSOME)

Re: Favourite place in the world?I don't think so! Over 23 Millions people live there. Too much asphalt. Not my world!(Original post by navarre)
New York. I'd love to live in such a city... it would be amazing. -
Re: Favourite place in the world?Typical reaction of someone who's never been there. Try visiting the cafes near Times Square on a warm summer evening, with young people on their laptops and the skyscrapers towering above you and tell me that the atmosphere isn't magical.(Original post by Kallisto)

Re: Favourite place in the world?I don't like such an atmosphere. But I love a place which is full of nature and out of a city. I like also a place which is nearby a sea. Such locals are my favourite places in the world.(Original post by navarre)

Perhaps Café Salmonella, it is truly an exquisite place.

Plus the forests there look epic.
