    4 Resits In June :(
    Hi,

I didn't do very well in the January modules and now I am very very depressed.

I only have one shot left, as I am an A2 Student.

    I plan on resitting C3, C1, S1 & Product Design 1.

I am willing to do anything, and YES ANYTHING to get at least 'A's in these modules.

The problem I am facing is time.

I also have A2 modules to revise for as well.

What is a good approach to this problem?

Begin revising now and get extra tuition even if it means break/lunch/after school or even with another family member

Revise from now until the exams, do lots of past papers (do all of them!) and go over class notes and the textbook for the questions you got wrong or struggled more with.

I had 5 AS re-sits in June (including 3 chem papers) as well as my 3 A2 exams and I got AAA.

If you want it badly enough, you'll do it.

If you really want 'A's, then you're just going to have to work your socks off

But hey, I've had to do another year to do resits Luckily my school let me just take the exams there and not have to actually go to the school. It's already been worth it, as I was 1 mark off an A in history in the summer, went down 4 marks after I had the paper remarked, and now after the January resit finally have my A
Plus, I'm earning, so saving for uni, so it's not all bad.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, chin up you don't have '"one shot left" and if you work for it you can do it

    What was your technique?

Revise for the A2 content first before moving onto AS?

In my experience that helps for Math definitely. Although it only makes AS look easier in comparison. It means nothing if you cant learn the A2 properly so it might be better to start at AS.

Heh, I have 6 resits. 11 exams in total. To anybody in Year 12, don't slack off because you'll regret it.

stay away from TSR, check whether there is 3 exams in 1 day or not.

My technique was based around trying to doing 'more focussed' revision. I printed out all of the specifications, and literally ticked my way through each learning objective. I made sure I had a comprehensive set of notes written up on each topic. For Chemistry, I split up each module in each unit and had like a few pages of notes on them. For me personally, colour coding headlines helped with re-call (it got to the point where I could remember which colour a section of the syllabus was) pretty sad I know, but it really helped when it came to exams.

Exam practice is a big help, doing as many past papers as you can (but only after you've actually learned the content thoroughly) only then will you feel the full effect of doing the papers.

I learned the AS and A2 content together - well i structured my revision by the subject. So I did all the units of chem, followed by bio and then followed by notes for english literature. For me, it was effective as my brain was always focussed on a particular subject as opposed to the exam itself. It help with the synoptic elements of A2 as well as the 'stretch and challenge' stuff.

I started my main revision during the Easter Break - and then I remember having 6 weeks of term time to consolidate the gaps in my knowledge. So I had aimed to do all my learning and revision before going back, which allowed me to focus on the difficult topics with teachers and friends.

Hope that helps and the best of luck
