When are you guys doing the exam? I am taking it in 6 hrs....
So how did you guys find it? I think it pretty good, but ICT is a lot about common sense and applying your own knowledge, as well as the book, and in that sense I think the course structure is wrong, the book should emphasize what will be on the exam.
Also, does anyone know what the grade boundaries will be around? -

Hi.
I'm quite worried about my ICT exam because I feel like I haven't been taught everything I need to know. My worries increased when I looked at past papers, because I can hardly answer any of the questions on the exam paper because we have not been taught them. (This was from two past papers, Nov. 2008/ and June.2010, so quite recent.)
Upon looking at my syllabus (which is quite vague) I can't really find what is in the exam papers and so then I thought perhaps the syllabus for these exam papers has changed since then, but it when I look at the different versions on the website, the syllabus' are from 2003 and 2009. The syllabus from 2003 had some of these questions on the 2011 past paper but being in 2010, the syllabus must have been from 2009. In the mock exam we did though, I got a high grade but i'm not sure if this is down to luck. This paper was from 2011 June.
In short really, (excusing my bad explanation) i'm not sure if I am learning everything I need because I cannot find some areas on my syllabus, but the 2010 paper must have been based off the 2009 syllabus I have where there are questions and terms I have never heard of.
For anyone else doing Edexcel IGCSE ICT, have you learnt about things such as star/bus topology networks? Internet traffic? Or why fibre-optic cables have greater bandwidth than copper cables?
None of these things are even in my book...
I felt the exact same way but I got an A in the end so yeah... -

Neither is it included in the Longman ICT for IGCSE book. :/ And secondly, I'm new here, How do I start a post? Also, is there any point in solving questions from the previous specification? I mean, some of the topics are still common to both of the specification.

Re: IGCSE Edexcel ICTDude.. Our teacher never taught us that's well! Don't solve questions from previous papers as they are so outdated and not compatible with the latest spec. Do the new papers. By new I mean 2011 June and 2012 June. Not to forget the sample assessment paper found in the spec(Original post by AyushU)

Re: IGCSE Edexcel ICTWhen practicing web authoring earlier, I had to design a homepage for a club(or something)> So I designed in Microsoft Word and the saved it as an html file. When I opened it using dreamwaver, all the pictures and graphics were scrambled all over the page. Any way to counter this? I heard creating it in paint and saving it as an html file works.
