I've downloaded it but it asks for a product key when I try to play it, any idea how to get round this please?

Yeah I don't know what happened. I had to download 'Steam' and then every time I try to play it wants me to log into 'Live' and then asks for a product key number.

I think you're confusing Age of Empires: Online with the original Age of Empires games... Online's a new game...

Age of empires online is slightly different to the old school ones.

    http://ageofempiresonline.com/en/

This ones ok, but I think you have to end up paying abit of £££ to progress in the game (well it was like that when it released)

Ps if anyone uses Steam add me! Da_jaffer (maybe can play together)

I LOVED age of empires, age of mythology etc but for some reason my new house just doesnt let me join games! even when i opened all the ports it still wouldnt work

havent played it in ages, feels pointless investing in the new one if it wont work anyway

sad though- i literally used to play AOE for like 12 hours straight!

the only thing that will you notice first is the cartoony look, but that grows on you and you fall for the game. You will also notice the quest system with rewards...etc a bit over whelming at first but then you just get addicted and do all these quests and spend XP points on things... kind of fun you have to give it a chance to like it

World of Warcraft + Farmville + Age of Empires = Age of Empires online aka a recipe for disaster.

I can imagine a lot of children at the same age as myself when I played Age of Empires 1-2 enjoying this game but I find it incredibly difficult to picture them learning anything of historical value to the degree of the previous games as well as it being as much of a fulfilling experience.

It's extremerly tactical, I used to play AOE, SC makes it looks like a dummies game. Also on SC, I wouldn't recommend playing online till you'e experienced :p: Unless you're talking about Campaign? In which case you may have started with Protoss, and although being awesome, you should stick with Terran.

I agree, part of playing AOE 2 for me as a child was learning about all the wonderful conquerors!

    AoE2 >>>>>> SC, it's just more fun.

I can't be bothered with this new AoE Online rubbish, I'll just play AoE2 if I want to play AoE.
