Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reports
Has anyone else seen this?
Some supernerd compsci hacked camcors of all things to be able to read... wait for it... **unreleased** supervision reports!!!
So minor but still interesting lol.
Won't post coz I guess I may be warned for spreading it - anyone else aware of it? -
Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reports
If you know who he is, can you ask him to let me know what my labour law supervisor said about me in Michaelmas then? I still haven't seen it!
In all seriousness, if the guy really enjoys reading that X's progress, industry, enthusiasm etc is satisfactory, I will suggest a proper hobby to him

Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsIt's not her. However, having read Barnard's views on EU law, I'm kind of glad. Maybe I'm a minority but I disagreed with nearly every view she had on EU law last year. With that in mind, I suspect that, had she supervised me, I'd have spent all of this year arguing with her

(Her textbook and lectures are great for learning the basics from though ^_^)Last edited by gethsemane342; 12-03-2012 at 15:48. -
Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsok time to show my ignorance I don't even know what her views on the EU are lol... what are they in a sentence please haha?(Original post by gethsemane342)

she's my DoS as well :/ -
Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsShe thinks Trailers overruled Keck is the worst one.(Original post by DJkG.1)

Her reasoning makes little sense. If Keck takes you out of the scope of the law, there is no explicable reason why Trailers should put you back in. Further, if Dassonville is the definition of an MEE, Trailers is an explanation of Dassonville. Keck is an explanation of what is not in Dassonville. So Trailers can't overrule Keck.
I think other views included an odd understanding of Viking/Laval when compared to other cases (her view focuses too much on common law analysis in my opinion) and the idea that the common market is converging (it isn't)
Although I suppose you don't learn all this till next year. Guy in your year told me she prohibits her Part IB students from taking EU. -
Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsAhh ok cheers - understood little but from what I know about the free movement of goods I get your point (though I can't comment on it lol).(Original post by gethsemane342)

Yeh we're prohibited from taking it until part II - one guy (almost) tried and Trinity law fellows descended on him like a tonne of bricks lol. -
Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsThe funny thing is, our DoS has now implemented a similar policy. The ironic thing is, though, if you look at the stats for the 2011 EU paper, Part IB actually outperforms Part II (admittedly, that's because there were only 8 of us and 200 of them. And the highest Part II mark is about 16 marks higher than the highest Part IB mark)(Original post by DJkG.1)

Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsAhh right, and yeah I've heard of other college DoS's discouraging EU / IP / jurisprudence for part IBs too.(Original post by gethsemane342)

Where are you getting the stats from btw, just the examiners' report or somewhere else? -
Re: Camcors hack to read unreleased supervision reportsExaminer's Report has the stats. It was something like:(Original post by DJkG.1)
Ahh right, and yeah I've heard of other college DoS's discouraging EU / IP / jurisprudence for part IBs too.

Class I
Part IB: 37.5%
Part II: 28%
2.1
Part IB: 50%
Part II: 61%
2.2
Part IB: 12.5%
Part II: 8% (or thereabouts)
3rd
Part IB: 0
Part II: 1.5%
Fail
Part IB: 0
Part II: 0.5%
It also had the numbers (plus, I saw all the EU students from my year when we sat the paper). As for the marks, I know what 5 of the Part IB students got (6 were from my college) and I know who got the firsts and what marks they got. I also know who got the EU prize and someone who knows him told me he got a starred first so...
