Physics: Warwick vs Ucl vs Imperial
I have offers from all three universities and now i'm completely torn between all three. I was at first weighing towards Imperial due to it's reputation but after talking to several unhappy first years and attending their open day I got the impression that the university wasn't as great as i thought it'd be.
Having a social life is fairly important to me, but then again, i'm not sure if I really should be prioritising that over a degree from imperial. Although anyone who goes to imperial and is genuinely having a great time socialising and going out please share your experiences!!

My next problem is then deciding between UCL and Warwick - but i'm still not ruling out Imperial either!
I really loved Warwick's campus and the whole atmosphere over there. The department and tutors that I met seemed really enthusiastic.
Ucl on the other hand is in London and the social life is great. Also it is more well known than warwick in terms of general reputation. Although for physics I don't think it's that great. My offer for UCL is AAB, whereas Warwick is AAA and IC A*AA

I've researched the course structure and i'm not really concerned about it. I'd be happy studying physics where ever, although actually I am fairly concerned about the work load and stress at Imperial.
Any personal experiences at the universities/ advice/ why you chose one instead of the other would really help!

I won't be too useful, but at the very leasy I can give your thread a bump.

I do chemistry at Imperial and while it's not exactly party central here, there is definitely no shortage of opportunities to do stuff. Just don't rely too much on the student union-organised stuff, plan your own fun!

My physicist friends seem to manage to get the work/play balance quite alright. It's the engineers I feel really sorry for.

A lot of the aspects that put blokes off applying to Imperial probably don't apply to you.

I've always had Warwick down as being very strong for maths and physical sciences, and it's reputation generally is probably on par with UCL imo.

Thanks anyway! Yeah I've heard the engineers have it worse.. I have a feeling I'm going to firm either ucl or Warwick though. I just think I'd get a good balance of things in terms of work and student life
