I'm taking this exam! What did everyone get for F581? I got 84/100 so just over an A so hoping for a higher A in this one!

What do people predict will be the question for the 18 marker in this exam?

I got 88, but a lot of people did not do as well as they'd hoped/expected.. I don't have a clue what the question will be as I haven't looked at any past papers. My guess, though, is that it will link into a policy mentioned in the budget.

The recent budget? My teacher said these papers were written ages ago, like 1-2 years in advance so I doubt it.

If this is any use, the questions are as follows:

    (1) using case study, explain why worker's may be able to produce more output in the future [4]

    (2a) define economic stability [2]
(2b) using case study, calculate country's output [2]
(2c) comment on whether higher level of investment always results in higher economic growth rate [6]

    (3a) define aggregate supply [2]
(3b) using AD&AS diagram, analyse effect of increase in rate of interest on an economy [7]

(4a) comment on whether rise in income tax will increase unemployment [6]
(4bi) what is the other component of fiscal policy asides taxes [1]
(4bii) explain meaning of term expansionary monetary policy [3]

    (5) using case study, explain two reasons country's currency might have appreciated in year 2010 [6]

(6a) explain why setting inflation target may reduce inflation [3]
(6b) discuss whether inflation always harms an economy [18]

    have you done this exam?
No, I'm sitting F581 and F582 next month. I asked my teacher if I could have a look at both January papers so I see what is likely to come up and what isn't.

Apologies for not doing the scan, I didn't see your reply last time. From the post you just quoted me in though, you should be able to get the idea of what was in the paper and run a mock from that(?)

Good point. In that case they might have something to do with suggesting policies to combat the UK recession (i.e. what would your budget be like?)

Remember the essay questions in the paper have to be accessible to candidates ranging from E-grade level to A-grade.

If a question were posed that was encouraging some sort of link to recessions, relating to the use of fiscal policy in the past it has been more like the following:
Discuss the effectiveness of fiscal policy measures to encourage growth in aggregate demand.

    IMO.
