I entered the course at second year, though, so I can only talk about things generally, I'm afraid!

Hello all,
I will be moving into my 2nd year at Leeds Trinity when you guys will be freshers.
I will be a peer mentor for freshers in their first year up to christmas time.
During my first year I lived in trinity close which is a great place to live.

What is the course like in general? Does the work placement help for English?
And the campus, is it being small and out the way a good thing?

No worries!

I, personally, found the work placement very helpful - you can either let the office choose a placement for you, or you can contact companies and arrange your own. I want to work as a librarian, and I managed to secure a placement working for the local library service, which gave me a good insight into the career. I am now volunteering for them over the summer. To be honest, I'd say placement is whatever you make of it.

I quite like the size of the campus, as everything you need is nearby - you don't have to travel to another site, as it doesn't exist! You just need to bear in mind we don't have as many facilities as major universities, but the gym and library are quite good.

You may also, on occasion, find it hard to get a study room or computer terminal, mainly at peak times, but all in all, it's a cosy little campus and there's a friendly atmosphere. The uni is constantly aiming to improve the facilities.

There's also a regular Shuttle Bus to the local train station and supermarket, so you're not completely cut off from civilisation!

i accepted a place on the english & media course today
only decided to try and apply for uni this year a couple of days ago!
i'll be a bit older than most
