    Heyy guys,

    Name: Emma
College: St Cuthberts - is there ANYONE else?!
    Course: Biomedical Sciences
    Offer: Conditional AAB
Why Durham: To be perfectly honest it was the best open day I've ever been on, and the only Uni to actually give you a vague idea of uni life. Also it fits my minimum radius of 2 hours away from home as my parents are quite frankly driving me mad.

Aside from finding those ever so elusive cuthsmen and women could someone please tell me whats supposed to be happening with the accommodation? I'm getting nervous because everyone else seems to have already applied for it.
    Thank you

Hi a fellow Emma and cuths firmer here! for Natural sciences hoping to study biology, chemistry and history in the first year I have recently received an email regarding accomodation with an attached form you can either email back or mail. I have sent my form and received a confirmation email regarding it I put my first choice as self catering ensuite I have some other cuths goers on facebook and none of them have recieved the form yet so wouldnt worry, I have possibly because I was reallocated from josephine so they want to try ensure I atleast get my favoured style of accomdation in cuths im not sure also want to add after the open day can't imagine going to another college now !

That I was not, I came on my own and it was empty (easter break) so I didn't get to meet anyone except the lady that showed me around.

Are you worried about (the chance) of being forced to share a room? It is the only thing that I am not looking forward to!
That doesn't bother me particularly, because the chances of meeting someone with whom you'll make a long lasting and meaningful friendship (if your gonna share a room, you fill in a form and give a great deal of information about yourself, then they match like minded, and similar people in a way that causes there to be only 1 or 2 problems each year, and if there is a problem it can easily be fixed, you just need to ask, they don't just do it randomly) is much greater than anything going wrong. If you really, really don't want to share a room, tell them, they can't promise anything but they'll do their damnedest

Why Durham: After looking around at all the uni's offering a widening access to medicine course, Durham stole the show. The website was really informative and appealing, the people I met when I went for interview were very friendly, and people I know who are there have given it excellent reviews!

ohhh yay the person I have on facebook wants seld catered ensuite too! She hasnt had her form yet which perhaps shows a trend of those who were allocated to St Cuths getting first dibs before those who chose it as their college. Only three exams left Im still not sure on the * I need but Biology is my best bet and its my last exam this friday! I don't want to get to know loads of people going then have to tell everyone I didn't get in argh that flat party sounds fun! :-) fingers crossed and good luck with your exam too if all goes well I shall see you there

hey, self catered ensuite seems the most popular option I hope we all get it and I sent mine by email yes, I sent mine the 9th of june and got confirmation the 11th pretty speedy. Im sure yours is just taking longer as more people have started to reply now so she has to work her way through them which I imagine takes some time so Id give it a few more days

Hmm maybe but I joined the Durham firmer's page on Facebook and I think most people have received accommodation forms, maybe your friend should send them an email asking for one? I don't think its that big of an issue they don't allocate them until after the results are out. Ooooh good luck, Im beginning to regret joining the facebook page as I completely messed up my history exam so when people will be like 'yeahhh see you in october' I'll be sat there like 'soz guys ive had a career change becoming a binman instead' I'n not that bothered about sharing a bathroom but the rooms looked nicer in Brooks House than they did in Parsons Field hahaha. Fingers crossed though!

I'll say to only leave it a bit longer before she asks because more people have got the email but yeah we dont find out till late september! hmm I did history wjec didnt like 2/3 questions but felt it went quite well idk :/ I need my * in history or biology and im relying on it in Bilogy atm! You'd never be a bin man Im sure you'll get the grades and hmm I agree it seemed maybe a bit more modern idk I would be fine with either aswell as long as I get self catering (if I get the grades :L )
