Why Durham?: It's incredibly beautiful, nad I love the riverside setting of my college. My coach from back home also coaches up in Durham, so I can keep with the same coach even though I'm moving 5 hours away, which is a definite plus! And of course the reputation of the uni too.
Other: So terrified of not getting in cause I want it so badly! Anyone else going to Hild-Bede?

I am 45 and decided to apply
Can understand what you are saying but the truth is, I am more relaxed now and willing to enjoy and profit from the university now than before.
And I did had a speed up life
I crossed a country in a middle of revolution looking for a doctor because I was ill (Africa) I was in an earthquake (Azores), and under a fire (Lisbon), threatned a man that was a animal dealer, killing dozens of them!
I married, had a child, sow loads of trees, wrote dozens of articles in websites.
Look at age like if it was a bottle of wine.
when young, wine fights your palate, pushes it's flavour, brings up your will to assimilate.
Mature wine blends in your mouth, becomes "you" in the first instance, just slides with no other intention besides enjoying the ride.
Locard's principle will work wonders for me at the University.
And any person that will cross my way will bring me something new.
Loads of new stuff, gigantic fun!
And I can relax and just enjoy such a major path in my life
WOW! you've had an interesting life!
I'm also a mature student at 42, i decided to leave a career in heavy plant (Caterpillar) to return to education (which scared the bejeezas out of me!), I completed a foundation year in biomedical science at Sunderland Uni but that wasnt for me so I applied to Durham and received an unconditional offer to study environmental geoscience BSc (Josephine Butler)
im bricking it but im really up for the challenges of studying something new.

Hi all. I have a couple questions. I just found out I'll be at Hild & Bede next year. I'm a post-graduate student studying education. What are the rooms at Hild Bede like? Do postgraduates live there during the breaks? Are there kitchen facilities/is it fully catered? Any information would be great. I've read over the website but wanted to ask people with experience. Thanks!
