Why Durham? I live locally, Durham is a beautiful place and i have numerous ties to the area.
Other: I left school in 1986 (yes, I am that old) I completed a foundation in Biomedical Science at Sunderland Uni in 2010, I'm very nervous because I'm not coming through the usual academic route but on the other hand, I'M very excited to start.

Has anyone else had a spontaneous letter about a Dangoor Scholarship out of the blue? :')
I did, Apparently I've been awarded it, It's an honor to receive anything like that but I'm not sure why or what indeed it means, i believe there's an awards dinner at some point but that's all i know

Hey guys, congratulations for getting offers!

I graduate tomorrow (I am procrastinating from packing) and as I pause and reflect, I just want to give you my 2 cents.

Firstly, without a doubt, the decision to go to Durham University is the right one. I have had a incredible experience, I am a different man to when I started in 2009. I am more confident, I have made many new, best and special friends. I have improved skill sets and received 5 different FTSE 100 job offers. I have participated in student politics and met Cabinet Ministers. I have been inspired by the charity work and the intellectual rigour of my fellow students.

Make no mistake, Durham will make you work hard. But it will also make you play hard. Enjoy every moment, seize every opportunity, grasp every chance and participate in every juncture. Life is so short, and the University experience even shorter.

It has been the best 3 years of my life and TSR has supported me throughout. I had some tough moments as every student would, and you will face that moment of truth too. And I know at Durham you will meet that challenge with enthusiasm.

Next year Durham is changing radically, the new library is superb, and lots of new sexy buildings are springing up, increased international students, refurnishing many lecture halls and accommodation and now top 5 in virtually all league tables and climbing in the international scene.

Have fun, good luck for those waiting for results and take care,

    Johnny xxx

Funnily, it's geology who actually do the colouring in. Every geology student I know admits to having had to colour in something during their first year.

There must be something seriously up with the offers. Almost every course Durham has to offer is still open in UCAS Extra! Which potentially means that those who are holding firm offers and don't get the grades required could get in anyway... Don't really know if it works like that, but I'm kinda hoping it is that way!

    Btw, hi peeps!

    Name: Nikki
    College: Stephenson
    Course: Psychology (Applied)
    Offer: Conditional ABB
Why Durham: I must've visited about 10 universities in England and Scotland and Durham stood out the most to me. The collegiate system, atmosphere and people, coupled with the course and University's reputation and facilities are all very appealing. It also helps that I know a couple of people that are potentially going to Durham (albeit on the main Durham City campus and not Queen's) so I know that if I want to catch up with friends in person and reminisce etc, I don't have to head to another part of the country or home (in London - therefore 5 hours away) to do so

EDIT: Has anybody applying to Stephenson received confirmation that your accommodation form has actually been received (and is therefore not lost in the post)?? :/
Hi! I'm Jess, also got an offer for Applied Psychology at Stephenson! I haven't heard anything back from the accomodation team yet, I think maybe it gets sorted after results day when they know who is definitely coming? Hope to see you there!

Got offered a place for both physics and theoretical physics. I made those offers so I think ill firm Durham. Really impressive considering I have only 1 A at GCSE and CCC at A-level.

She might be a mature student who's done an access course on the foundation year.

Thanks, what's the chance of being allocated to the collage you picked?

There's no way of really knowing, the college you have been allocated to should contact you (by letter) soon.
