Re: A2 6PH04 Physics Unit 4 'Physics on the Move' - 11th June 2012If you fire a beam of electrons at atoms, you can get diffraction patterns which can be used to investigate the structure of atoms. So the electrons need a high momentum so they have a small enough wavelength to have a good amount of diffraction with the small gaps of atoms(Original post by masum shikder)

a beam of electrons will act like a wave. the higher the momentum of the electrons, the shorter the wavelength
