Re: What are your opinions on PBL?Our fifth years do the same thing. On my current ward, the fifth year seems to be quite heavily involved. Writes the 'jobs list' on ward rounds and then goes and does said jobs after. Not sure if that's typical of fifth years or not, but they are supposed to get an 'FY1 shadowing/interning/whatever' period of 5 weeks in surgery and 5 in medicine.(Original post by carcinoma)
From what I have heard, they actually are given more responsiblity than before.
But ill get actual examples froms some 5th years. -
Re: What are your opinions on PBL?How have you got so much neg rep?(Original post by .eXe)
Can any current student from Liverpool please comment on their PBL style? I am having a hard time making a decision between PBL or traditional and would love to hear some first-hand feedback on it. -
Re: What are your opinions on PBL?I'm vocal, people don't like that I guess. Recently I've become a neg magnet, often people just neg my posts just for the lulz. And often times, I make "politically incorrect" or "contrary to popular belief" statements which again do not go down well. It's a mix of different factors really.(Original post by digitalis)

Re: What are your opinions on PBL?Our fifth years once they get used to their firms are given the responsibly to see their own patients, unsupervised. (Clerk, do bloods, investigations, write up and make the management plan, without feeding back to their consultant, but they of course have to get someone else to sign off on treatments given)(Original post by digitalis)
Such as what? I'd be interested to hear some examples of what they get up to.
That comes after them having to feedback OSCE style to their consultant for them to sign off prior to that.
