Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIYes.(Original post by jam277)
Remember when rooney elbowed someone and the FA did nothing about it. Or when yaya toure slapped mata in the chelsea vs city game and he wasn't punished for it. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIIt's another one of these things in which the FA/referees are so consistent in being inconsistent. Reina get's a red for something where there was basically no contact, Dempsey did it to Bellamy with a lot more contact and all the ref did was book both Bellamy (for no reason other than reputation, which was stupid as he actually didn't do anything(Original post by jam277)

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIWhen did I say it excused it. All I'm saying is that there should be more consistency in punishments. Yaya basically bullied mata in the match but he gets nothing for it. So at least give him a ban too. Anyway I guess we'll have to put bosingwa in the team

Yup. It's so annoying, but oh well. Or when barton and gervinho squared off and gervinho got a red when barton basically fell to the ground.(Original post by Deshi)

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIII agree there is inconsistency, but they can't go back and give their bans now.(Original post by jam277)

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIRemember when nothing could be done about that because the officials stated he had got it right (in his mind ofc)?(Original post by jam277)

And was toures not delt with because the officials made no mention of it in the match report? Thats the thing that stops stuff happening. Crap rule or not, these examples arent examples of inconsistency at all, rather the opposite.Last edited by Tommyjw; 09-04-2012 at 14:30. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIThat's a terrible rule, ok I can excuse the rooney one since the official has the say. However the toure one is stupid, you could see it on the tv, he kicked him then slapped him, how could it not be on the report, that's malice, might not be as bad as balotelli stamping on parker, but it's still enough to warrant a ban, thats why I'm saying it's inconsistent.(Original post by Tommyjw)

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIWell unless im mistaken it only goes on the report if the ref knew about it, clearly, and people (i assume the managers) bring it u?. So i can only assume it wasnt brought up by then or at the right time etc? Cant really remember the exact game and how much fuss about the challenges was made until 'after the game'(Original post by jam277)

But they do seem to be some **** rules yes -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjVU6Twg2lg for the rooney elbow. They should both get bans if the ivanovic one got a ban. Although obviously it's too late for them though.
The ref saw the guy go to ground for the rooney challenge. Couldn't have he asked him what happened?Last edited by jam277; 09-04-2012 at 15:25. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIUhh.. okayy... and? ..... where has anything about anything being deliberate been mentioned?(Original post by jam277)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjVU6Twg2lg for the rooney elbow. There is no way neither of these aren't deliberate.
and i can perfectly say Rooneys wasnt deliberate, and many pundits would agree. Mccarthy charged into Rooney to impede him, resulting in Rooney having to lift his arm and the way Mccarthy charged in resulted in his head being at that height, as many pundits stated after it. It was a case of Rooney not moving his arm out the way as opposed to doing it deliberately, big difference. Could have still been sent off for it sure, but its largely different than other examples that would need after-match punishment.Last edited by Tommyjw; 09-04-2012 at 15:26. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIDon't worry, I didn't read what you said properly at first. Rooney went to go for the ball, he could have easily sidetracked him but he didn't. But lets forget about that. I just find the rules stupid because the fa shouldn't be having these problems with the technology that we have.(Original post by Tommyjw)

Ivanovic should get a ban, but we should see more bans like this happening in the future. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIJesus, stop embarrassing yourself. Hate 'fans' like this, so obviously blinkered, it's ridiculous.(Original post by silver0)
It's not exactly clear to see how hard he punched him, maybe the Wigan player faked the reaction slightly as a lot of players do...
He deserves a punishment, no question, no matter where your loyalties lie. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIII don't think he deserves a 3 match ban, maybe 1 match is enough, but they don't do 1 match bans do they? It's bit harsh, especially for a player that doesn't usually does stuff like that.. but yeah I do agree that it's not acceptable, but there are worse cases where nothing has been done..(Original post by maccy7)

Anyway if he does get banned at least he will be available for CL matches... -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread III
Put a cheeky £1 on Chelsea winning 2-0 with Ivanovic scoring first - 230 quid return. It will never happen, but worth a stab.
I'm going with a 2-2 draw. Got Torres and Dempsey to score first on two different bets, both 60/1.
I want some moneysss tonight Chelsea, don't let me down. The first one would be nice for both of us, I'd be 230 quid up and you'll be 4th.
EDIT: Well that was a waste of £3 haha. Cheers Frank
