After watching Arsenal only manage a draw earlier on, does anyone else think we might actually be able to sneak 4th spot, on GD? I know we are clear outsiders for it, but something tells me that we could get it at the expense of either Arsenal, Newcastle or Tottenham. Newcastle and Tottenham will almost certainly drop points tomorrow in my opinion and, if we could take it down to the final day, then who knows?

It's a big ask. If Arsenal lose their last game against West Brom, and we win our last 2, we can be level points with them (and possibly ahead on GD based on the results). But we'll need City to beat Newcastle and Everton to at least draw with them. Can't see Spurs losing either of their games.

All wishful thinking, but let's not lose belief!

Chelsea will win, purely because you have a stronger bench and this will be a tight game.

Bit of squeaky bum time towards the end (who'd have thought Carroll would be the difference?) but well deserved.

Any liverpool fans want to chat ****. Luis garcia 05. Didn't go over the line so carroll didn't get the goal. Weird that I'm a chelsea fan in liverpool, was cheering them on the whole game in the pub.

I knew it would be like this for the last half an hour tbh. When they scored to make it 2-1 I knew we were gonna park the bus from then on. Someone was telling me that we should bring on torres, I don't know whether people know what parking the bus is?

The funny thing was drogba was absolute ****e this match and he scored the winner. What a ****ing legend.

Anyway, I don't really care about the FA cup, we're back in the community shield next season!!! Can't wait for our yearly match against united.

Had we'd been doing squeaky bum time all season we would be in a title challenge and not scraping for top 4. Still I think I've got grey hairs from today. It does show liverpools problems all over again, they couldn't retain possession for the whole of the first half against a team who plays on the counter attack. The second half goal was really just a moment of brilliance from carroll and terrible defending from bosingwa and ivanovic.

We should have put on another defender during the last 15 minutes though.

Why don't you care about the FA cup? It was a prestigous trophy in my younger days and I still think it's a great trophy now.

I mean... you've just won a competition. You've won a trophy. You're successful this year. Arsenal/Spur can't claim any success this year. But you can.

    Y U NO CARE 4 TROPHY?

    Anyway...congrats to chelsea.

P.S. Bosingwa must not play at right back in the CL final. He almost cost you today. You might not get so lucky against Bayern.

Well, our season has been poor regardless even though di matteo turned it around and tbh the CL/getting top 4 is the only thing that can make up for it. An FA cup doesn't make up for poor league positions, a champions league can however as you've faced the biggest teams in europe to win that trophy and by doing that showing you're a heavyweight. We had an easy run in the FA cup until the semi final but we had the second hardest group in the CL, the second hardest second seed team that qualified and the hardest semi final and went through it.

Liverpool won a competition, but I don't think they'll have much to celebrate at the end of the season. No revival, just another trophy in the trophy cabinet to inflate the ego's of those deluded scousers who use their trophy count to claim they're the better team.

That waiting for 50 years comment about the hillsborough silence pissed me off too, they've waited 22 years but refuse to admit that because they've got loads more trophies than us.

You've got a fair point to be honest. It's vital that you win the CL to make up for your 5th/6th league place. However, even if you don't win it, I think you can still call this season an ok one considering how well you've recovered from the damage that AVB did to your season and the fact that you have won a trophy and had a great run in the CL.

Do you want RDM to get the job?

Also can you elaborate on the 50 years comment about hillsborough? I didn't come across it. Or are you rather talking about the length of time when chelsea last won the league before 2005 and the time since lolerpool last won a league?

So looking forward to the CL final now, shame about Terry, Ivanovic and Ramires being suspended, but at least Cahill and Luiz should be back :u:

oh and that goal was not over the line, it was very close but definitely not fully over. Well there's always some controversy when Chelsea play isn't there...

So what do you Chelsea fans think about RDM's future? Do you want and or think he will get it? Perhaps it will be clearer after the CL final but as a neutral I'd love to see him get the job.

We've recovered from how we were in february, di matteo has done a great job, but the season as a whole has been poor, we were title contenders and we're struggling to get top 4 over an arsenal side with their worst start to the season under wenger and a crap load of injuries, a tottenham side that has no squad depth and a newcastle side who were in the bottom half last season and were in the championship the year before, it's been a terrible season by all standards, we need the CL money because of financial fair play rules coming in, there's no way we'll balance the books without getting constant CL every season.

Di matteo deserves the job, even if we get spanked by bayern munich, he's re instilled belief into the players and got them results and playing better, we should have never tried to retain possession and be an attacking team, we have fast wingers and slow defenders and we lack a playmaker besides mata and maybe lampard in the deep CM role, why play a possession game.

Yeah the hillsborough comment was about us taking 50 years to win the second league title and how we couldn't wait a minute for the silence of morosini and hillsborough, it was a stupid dig at us, seeing as they've waited 22 years and have won **** all premier league titles and are set to go a 23rd season without a 1st division/premier league title. Think the fans put up banners of it.

Because everyone hates chelsea (besides united fans probably) which makes victory even sweeter.
