Terry is out for the final -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread III(Original post by hdr95)
Malouda is absolutely shocking, and as long as I never see him in a chelsea shirt again, I will die a happy man. Kalou actually has some pace, and his shots don't always end up as a throw in/ out of the stadium
Malouda is a better player when tracking back as well and that will be key if we go ahead. Whilst Kalou is more skillful, I thin kMalouda would be a better option, especially as we'll often have to get the wingers to double up with full back to tackle Bayern wing men -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIMuch rather play Kalou tbh.(Original post by Wawasan)
he is the best option we have on the left wing at the moment in my opinion -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIWould he track back though? Especially as it would be made even more difficult for him to defend given that he is right footed(Original post by iRush)
Much rather play Kalou tbh. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread III
I've seen Kalou track back a number of times in chelsea's games. At least more than Sturridge.
However, I wanna ask you guys something. Recently under RDM, you have been playing the 4-2-3-1 formation with Mata behind the main striker. But a key part to this formation was having Ramires on the wing. Without Ramires in the final, that will mean that you will need to play either of Kalou/Sturridge/Malouda on the wings in the 4-2-3-1 formation. I'm sure a lot of chelsea fans wouldn't be too happy with this.
But to avoid this problem, you can play 4-3-3 and have Essien in the middle with Lampard and Mikel. And Mata and Kalou can play on the wings. However, the problem is that you play better offensively with 4-2-3-1 than with 4-3-3. But since you'll be parking the plane against Bayern, 4-3-3 is not a bad option.
So what do y'all want? 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3? What will be your line up in those formations? Also, will Luiz and Cahill be fit for the final?Last edited by Cable; 06-05-2012 at 18:20. -
Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread III4-2-3-1. Luiz and Cahill will be fit. I don't think we'll park the bus until after if and when we go ahead though, otherwise we have no attacking threat. Although you could argue that Drogba could be unplayable on his own up front if it is his day. Best option for me would be Mata and Malouda on the wings. Something tells me that he just isn't as influentual in the centre of the park, Lampard would be better in that attacking midfield role with Essien and Mikel holding behind him(Original post by Cable)

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIIHe did that first dance move when he scored the goal!(Original post by Kruz)
As an Arsenal fan, I can't help but admire Drogba. Oh and also Simon Amstell is a ****
haha he's such a nice man, and so much respect for him.

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread IIILol I read that too. I agree though, we should keep extending his contract until he shows signs of decline. If he wants 2 years then give I say give it to him cos we're better with him than without.(Original post by Tommyjw)

Re: The Chelsea F.C. Thread III
Hey, good lineup for tonight - going exactly how I thought it would, Essien's probably in there just to get some time under his belt before the big one next Saturday. So that might mean Kalou will be starting on the left wing and, after watching him on Saturday, I wouldn't oppose to that like before.
