Applying for student finance 2012

Hiya....

I was hoping someone could help with this...I'm applying for my student finance and have set up my account with direct.gov. However, I log in, scroll down to My Applications, move along to 2012/13 and click on Apply for Student Support. Is this the right thing to click on for applying for student finance?? Because then once I have clicked it, I'm taken to 'can I apply online'. I then fill in the form to which I then press continue and it then says that I'm not eligible to apply like this! Is there a paper version to fill out-or must it be online?!?

I'm really quite confused-is this even the way to apply for student finance???
