UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPE
Basically, I hold offers for both courses. I would firm UCL and Sciences Po straight away due to the fact that I love the course, both unis are very prestigious and I like the idea of studying in Paris and in London. The only factor that is keeping me to firm it right now is that I would like to specialise in economics, and. although I might still do it at UCL, Warwick's PPE (especially the Economics major pathway) is said to be very good in this respect. Moreover, I really like the structure of Warwick's course as well. I was wondering whether anyone could give me some opinions, and which degree is likely to be more formative/give me better career prospects

Re: UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPE
UCL and Sciences Po are fantastic universities in amazing cities, completely different environment than that from Coventry !
sounds like the only plus that's stopping you from firming UCL/ SP is the course in Warwick but tbh you can still specialise in in economics at UCL and its prestige is arguably higher than Warwicks !
and the advantage of living in LDN is that you might get better conections for internships and that .. also living in Paris will look good in your CV, you know, well rounded etc .. -
Re: UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPETo be honest, I'm not quite sure. I like both very much, but while on the one hand the UCL/Sciences Po covers a wider range of disciplines (macroeconomics, microeconomics, law, politics, sociology, etc.), Warwick's PPE may be more suitable to specialise in economics... Even though it would still be possible at UCL.(Original post by Tsunami2011)
Which course do you prefer? It's unclear from your post. -
Re: UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPE
UCL has really good links with banks, better than warwick but ppe i reckon is a more respected course than political sciences but the fact its from ucl will mean that no one cares. ucl has waaaay higher world ranking than warwick so if you wanna go abroad go for UCL. But UCL accomodation is meant to kinda suck and living in london is expensive, but on the flipside its hard to find warwick accomodation nearby because its only kinda close to a couple of towns so i'd get accomodation wise it evens out. Ive applied to both warwick and UCL (albeit for physics) and i think UCL seems superior because of its world ranking and i reckon living in london would be way more fun than living in coventry (even a teacher of myn who did maths at warwick said he wished he'd gone to a london uni because they seem so much more fun- he was quite young i think he'd only finished his degree a year before and he was teaching as part of his PGCE)

Re: UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPE. where did you see that UCL has better links than Warwick with banks?! both get roughly the same amount of students into front office at the bulge bracket banks. UCL does have a higher ranking but for social sciences, and Economics, which is what the OP will study, they are closely ranked.(Original post by krishan369)

OP, I think you should visit both of them, and decide. They couldnt be any more different. What careers are you considering? -
Re: UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPEI have already visited UCL and it gave me a pretty good impression(Original post by Tsunami2011)

I won't probably be able to visit Warwick and Sciences Po in Paris because I'm an international student and my final exams are in June, so I won't be able to spend a lot of time travelling in the next three months
Personally I would love to work in institutions such as EU, UN, etc., and in general I think I'd love to work in politics, but realistically, a specialisation in economics maybe would make things easier for me, should I change my mind/not get my "ideal" job...

Re: UCL/Sciences Po ESPS vs Warwick PPEEither course would set you up nicely for a career in the EU/UN,etc. I don't think the specialisation in Economics would be particularly important unless you wanted to become an economist/ or go into a finance related career.(Original post by Roses*)

I would personally advise you to pick UCL, largely because you visited it and really liked it. Both are top schools, so you're well placed either way.
