Basically Im doing an essay which is due in on Tuesday and I dont know what to write.

The essay that I am doing is "What were the aims of the allied occupation of Japan and to what extent were these aims achieved?"

If anyone could help, that would be great

Their aims were probably to get rid of Japan's war culture, to remove their military infrastructure and to use them as a proxy against the growing power of the communist Soviet Union by turning them into an ally and giving them economic aid.
I'd say the aims were all achieved.
