Teaching Secondary with a Primary PGCE?
My long-term ambition is to teach History at Secondary/post 16 level, but I know these jobs are much less common than Primary teaching posts, so if I did an undergrad joint in History/Education, followed by a PGCE, would I be able to use this to apply for Secondary jobs? My general understanding is that QTS is forwards compatible, but not backward?

QTS allows you to teach any key stage I believe. I would do a history PGCE if I were you as this is your main interest, Primary places are very competitive so you are no more likely to get on the course than secondary history.
