anime used to be on Channel 4 Circa
Back in the 90's there was an anime used to play on Channel 4 Circa. Was set in like a futuristic city, anybody know the name?

Cyber City Oedo 808 used to air on channel 4, I am not sure if that is the one you want though - annoying because I know I used to watch one back then as well but cannot remember anything about it

Nostalgic, what ever happened to airing this kind of anime? Still good, feel free anybody else to post other animes which used to air on Channel 4 Circa.

Well, the trend for cyberpunk in general died down massively after the early 90s.

I used to love things like Genocyber, GiTS, Bubblegum Crisis, Dominion Tank Police, etc. when I was younger.

Genocyber was just disturbing. Probably the most disturbing anime I've seen or even one of the most disturbing shows I've seen.

Didn't understand the plot of it though as I'm sure 98% of other people who watched it didn't either, they were watching it for the artwork.

I didn't the first time I saw it, but I was like 8-9.

I saw it again, on TV, a couple of years ago. There really isn't much to it. Girl is a biological weapon. Goes out of control and destroys Hong Kong, her (boy)friend dies. She somehow ends up on some pretty island country, that gets attacked. Her friends get killed, she goes crazy and turns into Genocyber again. Ends up on a ship with another bioweapon similar to Genocyber to counter it. **** gets real on said ship and she rampages on land too. At some point the MC fuses together or becomes one with her twin, or her twin disappears.

In short. Lose friends/loved ones. Go mad. Destroy a city or country. That's about it for the plot. Not really anything intricate and like you said, most of it is just watching it for the artwork.

Then there's the last OVA. Shark is jumped, world hits the reset button. Adam and Eve end.

I enjoyed it more when I was younger.
