Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision ThreadDid you do both M1 and S1?(Original post by dench_crepz)
Also do the schools take the best grade out of S1 and M1 to use for your math grade for AS Level with addition to C! and C"?
I'm pretty sure they take the highest mark of the optional unit, and the highest C1 and highest C2 -
Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision ThreadGood morning!!(Original post by otrivine)
Good morning
i did not get why y double ? is it always u double cause Shh gets affected by coding?

Haha yeah it's a really random one to explain but what you have to take into consideration is the fact that the question needs you to find Shh and the coding you have id only for one h so you have to multiply it with itself
h=x/1000 therefore to get hh you have to do (x/1000)*(x/1000)
Now you should have something that looks like
hh=(xx/1,000,000)
[NOTE: The main point of the doubling is the get 1,000,000]
And after that cause the question wants Shh you do (Sxx/1,000,000) to get 3.535..
Does it make more sense now? -
Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision Threadyeah i did m1 nd s1 coz i in the top set but i couldnt cope with doing s1 and m1 so i focused my revision on m1 and all my other subjects. my m1 exam went fckin brilliant so im bare confident :P(Original post by Lol_Fish)

Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision ThreadC1 + C2 + | S1(Original post by dench_crepz)
looool i'm going to be sitting down for an hour nd a half not knowing what the **** to do , if i can retake it then thats finnnnne
BTW is this all you need for a full a level maths: c1, c2, c3, c4, s1 nd m1?
| M1
| D1
= AS
C3 + C4 | S2
| M1
| D1
= A2
You can either do M2 if you did m1 last year, or D2 if you done D1 last year -

Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision ThreadThe first one is always.(Original post by im so fresh)
Good morning everyone
Just wondering with probability
when it is P(A l B)=P(A N B) / P(B)
when can we say that P(A N B) is equal to P(A)*P(B) and then cancel out?
The second one is when they're independent.

Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision Threadso even if u have sxx /syy/sxy you always time by 1000? or depends on question so we alaways double you mean?(Original post by jerichi)

Re: The Edexcel S1 (18/05/12 - AM) Revision ThreadWell it depends on the question so for ones like this one you would have to double it.(Original post by otrivine)
