Maths Modules
It's been a while since you posted and nobody's replied yet...maybe you should check out MarkedbyTeachers.com, TSR's sister site. It has the largest library of essays in the UK.
They've got over 181,000+ coursework, essays, homeworks etc.. all written by GCSE, A Level, University and IB students across all topics. You get access either by publishing some of your own work, or paying £4.99 for a month's access. Both ways give you unlimited access to all of the essays.
All their documents are submitted to Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, so it can't be misused, and the site's used by hundreds of thousands of UK teachers and students.
What's more, you can take a look around the site and preview the work absolutely free. Click here to find out more... -
Re: Maths ModulesIt can happen. The exam board will automatically try and first get you the best grade you can get in Maths, and then concentrate on getting the best grade possible in Further Maths.(Original post by don'tTRIP.)
Is it possible to switch modules from Maths with Further Maths? Only, I did Further Maths last year and my teachers tell me I can. I don't understand why, but I am woeful at D1 so, I was hoping I could switch it with S2. Also, does this happen automatically? -
Re: Maths Modules
I am not sure completely about what your asking. But here is what I understand of it:
So your doing maths and further maths. You want to make sure your Maths A level is at an A or A*. Your D1 counts as a maths module and your S2 as a further maths module. You would like to see if you can switch them so that your S2 counts as a maths module and your D1 as a further maths module.
Ok so thats my understanding of what your saying... apologies if that's not what you want to know:
You can switch D1 and S2 but only if you have done S1 and your S1 mark is also counting towards your Maths A level.
Basically your maths A level will consist of c1 - c4 and then two optional modules.
They can be 2 level 1 modules ( so any combination like this) :
S1, D1
M1, S1
M1, D1
Or a level 1 and a level 2 module :
S1,S2
M1, M2
D1,D2
(Note that if your going to use a level 2 module then you must have initially done the corresponding Level 1 module).
Finally yes it will be done automatically. Schools always ensure that the students A level Maths grade reaches the highest possible grade and then focus on Further Maths.
Also note I did my A levels in 2009 but .. I don't think much has changed from then
Hope I could help

Re: Maths Modules
A car travelling on a straight road slows down with constant deceleration. The car passes a road sign with speed 40 km h^-1 and a post box with seed of 24 km h^-1. The distance between the road sign and the post box is 240m, Find, in ms^-2, the deceleration of the car.
