You are being completely reactionary and I don't think that you really understand much about Libya. Under Gaddafi Libya was essentially his personal fiefdom, there was no real administration, no institutions, no democracy, it was just Gaddafi the madman giving his personal orders and him and his family building palaces and cruise liners with all the wealth that Libyans should have had.

Given the decades of this sort of rule, it is to be totally expected to have incidents like this. Gaddafi was a disease, he made sure everyone knew nothing. Now that he is finished alhamdulillah we have all this freedom but we don’t know how to deal with it. Now that he is gone, Libyans don’t know about democracy, and justice and elections. We have never had life like this. We only know the hammer of Gaddafi, we need to build up a country from the ground up, under Gaddafi, Libya was not a functioning nation, we have no institutions (institutions that took centuries to construct in the West).

The Libyan nation has never enjoyed statehood. Just as it was beginning to cultivate a promising vision for itself as an independent entity in the later stages under the reign of the last Senusi king it was hijacked by a semi-educated and misguided military man of low moral stature aka Gaddafi. After eight months of killing, anger, post-traumatic stress and the desire to avenge the deaths of loved ones and comrades runs high - and we see sickening incidents like this.

I think what is happening now is normal after war. After any war there is an adjustment period. The war took a long time. Getting back to normal life will take a long time. Peace does not come instantly. All the Libyan people are behind our nation and the NTC are moving towards a democratic Libya, it is sad to see people so hateful and telling Libyans that those who fought should "die". Why?

EDIT: Gaddafi didnt use mercenaries . It was a pretext for invasion. Shows how much people know.

He absolutely did use mercenary forces. Libyans were appalled that their dictator was murdering his own people with foreign killers.

Yeah I also thought it is due to their supposed alliance with Gaddaffi. Hopefully it is for this reason and not only due to their race.

Anyways, I saw a video of Muslim rebels (including Blacks) emptying alcohol bottles.. and they seemed pretty united, so I am unsure what to think.

I still remember vividly when my family in Libya told me in a terrified voice about the mercenaries who were roaming the street of Libya, killing those who dared to go outside on the street and took their corpes and burned it or dumped it somewhere afterward, so one lone group feeding them a piece of garment, a few months after the chaos of the rebellion is not the end of the world, despite that it is actually abhorrent, but in your cosy little western existence you haven't a clue what absolute animals the Gaddafis are and were.

Those caged in the video are from Tawargha, the former neighbouring town to Misrata. I say former because Tawargha is now a ghost town, since the majority of its inhabitants fled with Gaddafi's murderous troops. They fled after looting, burning, murdering, raping and torturing their neighbours in the most inhumane ways imaginable. In Tawargha the best meat was sold for insignificant prices as Misrata's people mixed flour and water to survive Gaddafi's siege. In Tawargha mass graves of entire families were found; grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children and babies - in their hundreds. In Tawargha kidnapped Misratis who survived told stories of indescribable humiliation and pain bestowed upon them by their Tawarghi friends. From Tawargha they came to Misrata in their thousands chanting "o Misrata death has come to you". I'm not excusing this behaviour but you HAVE NO CLUE what evil went on Libya.

It's interesting that Russia Today has never posted any videos of the horrific crimes committed by Gadaffi troops, specifically the things that people from Tawarga (the caged people in this video) have done, which practically outnumber these cases 100000:1.

What gets me is how they are referred to as "Africans". Yes they are Africans but the sentence "Libyans abuse Africans" makes as much sense as "Germans abuse Europeans". Why do only sub-Saharan Africans seem count as Africans?
