Yes, but mainly people on who go on the TV channels dedicated to Bengali's. My dad's brother and step sister's husband go on one or two specific channels a lot. My brother in-law is very good friends with the guy who owns two (maybe three?) very well known TV channels for Bengali's. Believe me, this is actually quite an accomplishment!

Re: have you or someone you know ever been on TV
I was on a lot of Fringe coverage. I was up on stage during the BBC3 fringe highlights bit. Whenever Darkness's Growing on me is on MTV, I am in that as a child. Errr, my dad runs Ms. World some years, so he is on that; he also went through a period of being featured on property shows. I have loads of friends whose parents are on TV, 2 of my friends friends work with the BBC and one has his own show (His name is Adam Nicolson, although I know him very vaguely).
A lot of my friends on I are briefly shown on T in the park coverage some years. -

We were at the BBC News because Prince Charles went to our school because he's the patron of Teach First who were celebrating their 10nth year. One of my teachers even talked and his introduction was so funny😄
Channel 4 went to our school to film My Big Fat Gypsy wedding as a girl in our school is a gypsy.
Unfortunately, i wasn't on TV😔

Re: have you or someone you know ever been on TV
I've been on TV quite a few times :P Twice on local news (when Princess Anne came to my city and we greeted and and once when my primary schools bell got restored :P) and once on national TV (BBC). They came to my school to film for a programme about WW2 because my school was used as a temporary hospital and shelter. Basically they just filmed us running around the playground but I got my own 6 second cameo when they filmed me going down a slide (wooo!)
My mums been on the news a few times where she's been interviewed (she's a psychologist).
My friends mum has been on Eggheads and my friends uncle was on deal or no deal
