I didn't really like the sound of halls so I'm staying in shared flats in the Kirkstall area. Worked out cheaper and the flats are much bigger and with fewer people. Only thing is, I don't have a clue whether I'll be staying with fellow 1st years or not..

I need 260 points to get into Leeds Met to do psychology. I got ACD last year, if I get ACD this year I get 260 points. I am on for my A in psychology, and I SHOULD get a D in biology, but I just did my last maths exam, I needed 60 UMS which is bang on a C and I'm not sure if I'll manage it. If I get ADD which is 240 points, but I get my A in psychology (the course I'm studying), how likely are they to let me in still?

I don't know how strict the university usually are. Does anyone know anyone who has been let into leeds met with lower grades than their conditions?
I thought things may be different with the fees going up, and is psychology a popular course?
hiya my friend needed certain grades to get into Leeds met last year and she didn't get 2 of them but she got her predicted in the necessary one and they accepted her so you should be fine

    Hey guys.

I know this might be a little late as most of the accomodation has been picked by now and not many left.

I've been in One Mill Street for nearly a year now. I've spoke to people from all over the different halls, every single one of them has said how much better Mill Street is for socialising, partys, ease of access.

If you've got any questions about it, I'm REALLY bored at work and remember trying to find stuff about halls when I was on here last year at this time, feel free to message me. x
this is so nice to hear cause ive applied for there!

what is the payments for the bills like though is it easy to run over? cause I'm worried it'll cost a lot!

also, is it far out of town?

    thanks x

ANYONE wanting to stay at St Marks Flats (on St Marks Rd) should reconsider! Like seriously, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!

The guy who showed me and my parents around (Waqas or something!) was so so so so so RUDE!!! To start off with he came out of his car and told my parents to not park outside the building, my dad said he'll move his car to the main road (literlaly 30 seconds) and he said "i'm not waiting i'm not waiting no i cant wait"... okay so we cant leave the car here or park it? EH? anyway when my mum asked what the heck was wrong with him he retreated back to his car and refused to do the viewing despite us travelling almost 2 hours to see the damn place!

...Eventually he came crawling back and we went to see the flat. OH EM GEE WAS IT GROSS!! Things were broken and when i asked if they were going to get fixed he just had a tantrum and yelled! So unprofessional and childish. The place was FILTHY!!!! There is NO security! Things are broken and when asked about this they said 'well if people keep breaking things we're not just going to keep fixing them everytime'... most shocking of all though... The flat was left FILTHY from previous occupants and half there stuff was still there... i asked if it would be cleaned and guess what.. he said No, because 2 girls from last year haven't moved out and they're staying on till the next year! WTH?!?!?! so just let new students come and live in others mold and crap! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Last year I paid the 43 week rent was split into three installments paid in September, January and April. (This year I've been quoted to pay in four installments which may be the case for everyone)

When you get your agreement contract it should tell you the date the money will be taken out. I got £87 back at the end of my tenancy for using less energy than I'd paid for in rent.

Five minute walk and you're in the city centre.

Just got a phone call from someone at Leeds Met today offering me a Cluster Flat at Carnegie Village (when I only applied for a Townhouse) saying that someone dropped out this morning. Yay roll on September

Speaking of September, when do we move into halls? Is it 1/2 weeks before our course starting date or something? I guess I'll find out when I get my results or something haha.
I am staying in a cluster flat too!
