Haha! That must be pretty frustrating! But I guess you won't need that much stuff in your first year anyway... There'll be no room for it! Oh wow! Why did you choose Dundee? xx
It's cheaper than going to a uni nearer to London and I heard pretty good stuff about UoD so yeah!

Even if I need stuff, I'll just get them to ship stuff to me!

Anyway, have you gotten your accommodation reply yet?

Seeing as Heathfield have one, I thought we should have our own FB group.

Just finished my first year at Dundee so if you have any questions ask away, I live in Belmont Tower but can answer questions on Heathfield/Belmont Flats if you have any.

From a few that I've read: the flats in Belmont Flats and Heathfield are absolutely identical, and they're literally across the road from each other, so there's none better than the other in terms of comfort or location (well, OK, Heathfield are maybe a 30 seconds walk further from most uni buildings).

    About FB groups:

Last year we had a major FB group for all those in accommodation where we could generally chat about uni and socialise, then linked to smaller "sub-groups" (one for Belmont Flats, one for the tower, one for Heathfield…) to find our flatmates.

I'd suggest you could make a major one as well, in addition to these smaller groups. It will help later for more general questions about uni life and for those who didn't get their accommodation offer yet (I'm not sure how it's happening this year, haven't read the whole thread, but last year they introduced a new system and it was a mess, hardly no one got their offer before mid-July).

PS: richarrrdo, your name on the FB group rings a bell… are you going to study DIxD by any chance?

Ah right! It's really cool that UoD have such a reputation... Because up where I live, everyone thinks of Dundee as scummy and teases me for wanting to go there xD And no I haven't... I'm hoping for it to come any day now haha! I applied on the 23rd... x

I am indeed! I remember talking with you via YouGo last year. I deferred my place and now i'm starting in September.

Can I just say your portfolio site is astounding! Gave me the kick up the backside to finally get started on putting something together for myself!

Would you have any advice about preparing for the course? Anything I can do before September which might help?

This course gets better and better.

Has anyone ever lived in the Ninewells recidences? What are they like? I'm doing Adult Nursing this year and don't know whether to apply there or just on campus

I'm applying there for Adult Nursing this year as it is so much cheaper! Let me know if you hear anymore of Ninewells.
