Re: PARTNERS programme questions.Informative, you get a provisional timetable and a little handbook and they just talk you through whats going to be happening, and stuff like that. Its a good chance to ask any questions too, the only thing is the photography they take...feels like a prison mugshot holding a board in front of your face with your subject and name on haha. I also made a friend there too cause i was by myself, she isn't doing the same subject as me but at least I have one person i know now.(Original post by anna11)

Re: PARTNERS programme questions.I start next month, did Law through PARTNERS.
Had an absolutely amazing time during the two weeks, made some great friends who I'm already organising to do things with come freshers week.
The lectures were interesting, the assessment wasn't too demanding and the reduced offer takes so much weight off your shoulders. The original entry requirements for Law was AAA, PARTNERS took it down to ABB and I ended up getting A*A*A but even if I'd knew I'd get those grades I'd have still done PARTNERS just for the experience and the financial benefit come term time.
I was hesistant about doing PARTNERS at first, the whole 'I wont know anybody' thing and the idea of using up 2 weeks of my summer but tbh, it was probably the best part of my summer looking back.
I'm actually hoping to try and join the PARTNERS team next year! So may see you there!Last edited by JD12; 04-04-2013 at 16:03. -

Re: PARTNERS programme questions.First of all, congratulations on getting fantastic grades and getting into Uni!(Original post by JD12)
I start next month, did Law through PARTNERS.
Had an absolutely amazing time during the two weeks, made some great friends who I'm already organising to do things with come freshers week. If I'm honest mate, me and a high proportion of the students living in the accomodation during partners just spent it getting hammered. Huge 20-25+ people drinking games, room parties. It was like our own freshers week basically except all unofficial events.

The partners programme does sound really amazing and I will definitely be applying via that route, whether I get the grades or not. Unfortunately I live only a 25-30 minute bus journey away so I doubt they'd let me stay in the student accommodation.
I will be applying for medicine and I heard the med assessment was difficult because they have so many applicants so I hope it's not that bad, I'm sure I will be fine if I really focus on it.
It's definitely the route I'm going to take so thank you for sharing your experience and best of luck to you in the future
That would be amazing, I may see you then

Re: PARTNERS programme questions.Yep I am starting in a couple of weeks for biology
partners is wonderful not just in terms of lowering the grade, but u wud also meet a lot of ppl who u wud be doing the degree with as well, so it sort of like let u get past all the weirdness of making friends once u do start the uni for real.
also u'll get to know the place, u will know ur way around uni and possibly get to know a bit Newcastle as well

Re: PARTNERS programme questions.I'm hopefully doing partners this year and I'm applying for maths.(Original post by JordanC55)
I've just got a letter accepting me onto the Partners system. I'm predicted AAB and I'm applying for Combined Honors therefore I meet the requirements; but Partners seems cool! Anyone heard anything back or applying via Partners this year?
When did you send your form off to them? Not ucas, the actual paper form. -
Re: PARTNERS programme questions.I'm not entirely sure as I filled my form out quite a while ago and my school sent it at some point after me sending my UCAS.(Original post by kanojyoxx)
I'm hopefully doing partners this year and I'm applying for maths.

I was however confirmed like last Thursday onto the scheme so I would imagine it took around a 3 weeks/1 month. -
Re: PARTNERS programme questions.I see. Mine only got sent off a few days ago.(Original post by JordanC55)

Re: PARTNERS programme questions.
I've applied to do Computer Science through partners, but I got an email back inviting me to an admissions day? Apparently some courses like to have admissions day's before offering a place, and in the email it talks about it being important to know which uni will be your firm choice, so it seems like a way to get people to make newcastle their firm, but that's a condition of partners anyway! Anyone else had anything similar?
Also worth noting that I've had no emails about partners or anything since applying.Last edited by cruelbloom; 18-12-2012 at 08:30. -
Re: PARTNERS programme questions.I think it was just over a week before I got an offer(Original post by kanojyoxx)
How long did it take for everyone to get their letter saying they have been provisionally accepted, to actually getting an offer?
