Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 SocietyNot really, if the sounds sounds similar or has similar lyrics to another song, it gets disqualified. All songs have to be original productions.(Original post by Dalek1099)
I suppose you could slightly rewrite the sound and keep similar tunes,to popular songs though and I felt that many of the songs I have seen sounded familiar some how,as if they had only changed some of the words like Malta.
Because it's located within the limits of the European Broadcasting Area. Same reason why Morocco has participated and Tunisia almost participated.(Original post by NoraHTunis)
Why is Israel in eurovision? -
Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 SocietyReally? Tunisia almost participated?(Original post by Gales)

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 SocietyYes, during 1977. They were due to perform 4th but pulled out. Lebanon was due to participate in 2005 too, and even chose a song, only to withdraw because they didn't want to participate with Israel, coincidentally.(Original post by NoraHTunis)

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 Society
Yes even with replays the first few songs have it tough. Apparently the song performed first has never won. But I think the dullness and outdatedness of the song will also work against it. I do appreciate his voice, bit it's just not for eurovision.
Sooo excited
Jedward have a brilliant chance of top 10, can't wait to see voting.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 SocietyPeople remember the first and last things, so its kinda worst to be in the middle somewhere.(Original post by F Ellen)
Bit peeved that Engelbert is performing first. Don't people usually forget the first song?
Wouldn't say its great to be first but its not amazingly bad.
Im backing Cyprus

Quick question, is the online Eurovision stream sans commentary? I seem to be in the minority of people who love Graham Norton...

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 SocietyIf you're watching it via eurovision.tv yes, if it's via bbc.co.uk you'll get Graham(Original post by Ra Ra Ra)

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012 SocietyIf you're streaming via the BBC site then I think it's just a simulcast of the actual broadcast, so it should be exactly the same(Original post by Ra Ra Ra)

If Eurovision have their own independent broadcast or something then there probably wouldn't be any commentary.
