MA Law at the University of Bristol
    Hello!

I haven't really come across anyone talking about the postgraduate MA Law at the University of Bristol. Was hoping to start something up cause I'm an international student and need some help.

I just got an offer to join the program and I'm a bit doubtful about a few things. The first is about the eventual degree being and MA as opposed to an LLB. Are MA Law graduates at any disadvantage when it comes to employment?

Also, around the world everyone knows an LLB is a law degree but an MA, not so much. What do you think about this?

Thank you so much in advance for all the help.

Hi! You're asking the exact same question that I am looking for an answer to. I'm currently offered a place at Birmingham for LLB for Graduates (2yrs) and MA Law at Bristol.

Both schools are Red Brick universities that are very prestigious. However, as an international student that does not know much. I referred to QS World University Rankings for 2011, and Bristol is top 44 compared to Birmingham that has a ranking 51-100 (after 50 they're no longer ranked).

If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? I'm from Canada. Perhaps, you should consider how the conversion works if you plan to go back to your home country. As I perceive, the MA Law from Bristol is a postgraduate degree in comparison to an LLB which is a mix of undergraduate law lectures and small seminar (I'm still not sure myself whether that is an undergraduate/ postgrad degree...).

Let me know if you learn anything new.

    Cheers!
