A general book on commodities would build fundamental knowledge. Understand both the financial and physical aspect including freight trading -

Re: Any good books on Metal markets? Iron/steel in particular?you might struggle to find anything decent on iron or steel trading as in the past these markets have been dominated by big players who set prices quarterly i.e. rio, bhp, mitsui, steel manufacturers.
spot markets are emerging in iron ore but are in their infancy.
