Do UK GCSE's count for anything abroad?
    Hi all,
I'm going back to my birth country, India in Year 10 and I wanted to know if the regular GCSE's do actually count in India.

No one seems to be answering our queries.

No they're not really worth anything abroad. The same goes for A-levels, employers abroad wouldn't have a clue, American unis apparently base their decisions on their own tests in America, with A-levels counting for little.

GCSEs won't have much recognition abroad. They will probably have some value in commonwealth (ex-empire states), as they're likely to follow similar education systems to the UK.

Of course they have value abroad...
...due to the effects of globalization.

Thanks. Disappointing to hear that. Anyway, there are quite a few IGCSE schools in India, so I should probably stand a good chance of getting into a good Uni. (India is a Commonwealth country BTW.)

    Thanks again.
